Did you just completely misunderstand the post you quoted?

Yeah, I did actually. My brain is fried right now but my point still stands. The action in Jurassic Park is entertaining and the special effects are awesome but it's just a movie that I have no interest in watching again. It's the quintessential summertime popcorn flick. I feel the same way about most comic book movies.

Although it's one of my favorite films, Jurassic Park is one that I wish I could see it as it were the first time again (along with films like Gladiator, Casino Royale, The Dark Knight, and Inception). It's great each time, but there was something special about that first experience.

+1. Jurassic Park was the first movie I ever watched in the movie theaters and it was a thrilling experience but the movie has no replay value whatsoever. It's the type of movie you watch one time, enjoy it and never bother to watch again.

You have Newman from Seinfeld in there.
There needs to be a prequel to the movie of how InGen was created then the islands and the dinosaurs and John Hammond

One of the best movie experiences of my life.

The theme song still gets me.

You ain't kidding.

I was really young...but it's still one of my most vivid movie theater experiences.

I swear I can remember seeing Roger Rabbit in the theater though...and Ninja Turtles

So it's up there with AWESOME

To this day I still get chills when the big apatasaurus drops to the ground after eating those leaves atop the tree.

Which is funny, because it got as high as it did on it's haunches as it did when it was just standing flat on the field.

Definitely one of my favorites. Such an original story and awesome to see on the big screen as a teenager. It certainly has held up well over the years.

I am currently showing it to one of my science classes.

We are calling it a fossil restoration documentary.

They are loving it, the vast majority of them have never seen it. It is a movie that absolutely holds up.

Am I the only one sick of hearing 'popcorn flick'?

Movie was incredible in theatres. I can remember everyone in the audience being captivated from start to finish. We did bring my 5 year old cousin who thought Raptors were awesome. She transformed into one about an hour in and started going up and down the aisle scaring the shite out of people on the ends of the rows.

I don't go the the theater much anymore (2-3 times a year), but Inception was the last time I left a theater giddy with excitement. I wish I was able to feel that way more often. Crossing my fingers for TFA, Spectre, or another big movie coming out this year to give me that feeling.

What are those anymore?!

Best practical effect in Jurassic Park is probably the cup rippling.
