Jessica Jones Review - SPOILERS

Short Review --- WATCH IT!

I've avoided this show for some reason. I noticed Freauxzen and Carson were recommending the show. I hate everything a little bit but Carson just plain hates everything so this must be good if he liked it. They were right!



Long Convoluted Review

For some perspective, I liked Daredevil but there were a few clunkers in the season and I got sick of the fight scenes with Daredevil getting killed pretty much every episode. Overall, I did like the season. I thought it picked up steam around episode 6 or 7 with only one clunker from 6-13. Vincent D'Onofrio was perfect. He had a different take on Kingpin but he nailed the unhinged aspect. Should have known he could nail it. Good old Pooh Bear.

He can play unhinged almost as good as Mel Gison or Alec Baldwin on a bender. Kingpin carried the show. I'm still not sold on any of the regular cast. If Daredevil went as far as JJ with the sexuality, I would like the cast a bit more.

I say all of that because Tennant also elevated Jessica Jones just like D'Onofrio . For me, JJ was a much better show. It wasn't full of the same repetitive fights over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...see that gets annoying.

I love seeing bad guys being really bad and super heroes having to realistically deal with people who can't actually be contained. After seeing Tennant play Doctor Who it was nice to see him play such an evil prick. Big pile of red shirts in this show.

Would have been nice if they had killed off someone important. I know the show was setting up future plots but Simpson should have died. His plot felt a bit forced so he wouldn't have been missed. They killed poor Hope but they let Malcolm live with that harido.

They definitely killed the wrong twin. Ahh the twin. That brings me to my main beef with the season. I only had one big beef through 13 episodes which is a record for me. She easily handles most of the bad guys. Has an epic throw down with Luke, but she can't handle a small pack of folks from the support group. 2 shots with a little wooden board somehow disables Jessica but being tossed through walls doesn't stop her. Being hit by a truck only puts her down for seconds but screechy miss annoying twin, clubs Jessica twice and she is out for hours.

That little ginger twerp couldn't take JJ down with Fallout 4 super sledge to the head. That was a weak way to free Killgrave. Should have come up with something better. Sure the ending was a tad weak too. Especially Kilgrave's cops waiting to open fire. Either he wants her dead or he doesn't. If he does, they open fire the second she walks through the door and it sure seemed like he wanted her dead when he sent Luke after her. Didn't bother me much though so I still go with only one big beef for the show.

I am looking forward to season 2 more than season 2 of Daredevil. Well done Netflix. Heck, I wasn't initially interested in Luke Cage but I am now.
