I don't care how many times I watch it, its still a great movie. A movie every American should watch.

I have watched it nearly every year since I was 5 or 6. It's one of my favorites!

I watch it with my parents every a Christmas Eve and it never gets old. A truly uplifting and engaging story.
It's always better by a fire though... Damn 80 degree Christmas!

Someone on this board . . . either last year or the year before . . . was bitching about it being socialist propaganda.

Watched it a little while ago. One of the all-time great movies and without a doubt my favorite Christmas movie.
The end always makes the room get a little dusty for some reason

I love the movie, but I noticed how they imply that his wife Mary had the worst fate out of all of George's acquaintances just because she wasn't married by the time she turned 30. Not the uncle whose in the insane asylum or the brother who drowned, or hundreds of dead men that resulted in this, but just the fact that Mary didn't have a kitchen to make her husband a sandwich in.

Bert (policeman) and Ernie (taxi driver), a forerunner to the Muppets' Bert and Ernie.
Legend is it's where Jim Henson got the names for his characters.
Great movie. I watch it every Christmas.

Given how many young males didn't make it to see 1946 I'm sure the "old maid" concern would have resonated with females at the time as a fairly big deal.
