Monday, AM: The final three-day gross number is in and, as Deadline predicted, Stephen King’s It ended up with $123.1M for the final three day gross, which included Thursday night previews that culled $13.5M. The New Line Cinema/Warner Bros.’ horror film has broken numerous records (see below). And they did this without the benefit of Florida which had about 175 theaters shuttered due to Hurricane Irma (accounting for 6.3% of the box office). The final Top 20 chart will come later this afternoon.

Top opening wknds of 2017: Beauty $174.8M, Guardians2 $146.5M, #ITMovie $123.1M, #SpiderMan $117M, #WonderWoman $103.3M. Fast8 $98.8M.

Crazy numbers. Who could've ever imagined a horror film opening to bigger numbers than a Spiderman or Wonder Woman film

I thought the cartels kidnapped them but it just seems they went to the movie as a team builder last night.

They'll have to wait for my money until Week 2, as I'm only on page 450 or so right now of that 1,200 page monster.

My 15 year old son is pissed I'm not reading faster...

Just get through the first part of the kid chapters and you should be good. The movie takes a good bit from the books but changed a lot for the ending of the kids part. In my opinion a little better than the book in that regard.

But for real, that's awesome. I hope this means we get Chapter 2 sooner rather than later.

Yeah, those numbers are insane. I thought it would get $60 million tops. The studio has to be extremely pleased with this.

Profit margins on horror movies are bank for the studios. Horror movies pretty much subsidize all the big movie busts the studios have.
