They were the first ones to have it. Though I am sure in that universe every large city has already been destroyed and things look different. No way I believe all the old aliens died, so they may even have territory on earth at the time too. Millions of them on ships and fighters. No way they all died.
I'm interested to know the plot. Does a second wave come? How have governments rebuilt after being nearly wiped out? You'd have to think a third of the world died at least.
