Good one. Sean Penn has definitely driven some roles into the ground

The perfect storm. Cast him as a new love interest for Claire Danes in Homeland and step back and watch how beyond the fringe they can both go.

Carrie's character is annoying as shite but being portrayed accurately in my opinion.

This. She plays a mentally unstable woman on the edge very well. I'd say that is great acting.

If you think that is overacting you've never been around someone with severe bipolar who stopped taking their meds.

This shite again?

Ive qualified my opinion as well as i can. Some of you obviously buy into this sweatbox performance of hers. Everyone seems to feel uniquely qualified to recognize an accurate depiction of the condition .

I personally think she sucks. Bad. Its exactly the type of role the meaningless award committees like to hand out ttrophies for

Yeah as does half my family. Guess what. Not one of us walks around with trembling lips, tears in our eyes, and perpetually looking like we havent showered in weeks

What type of bipolar are you and your family diagnosed with? Type 1 or 2?

And what type of medications were you prescribed?

you havent qualified shite. Caire danes character is obviously suffering from bipolar type I, which is different from bipolar type II. If you and your family don't react the way carrie does in the show, then you all are probably suffering from bipolar type II. Type II does not impair a person's ability to function in their everyday lives. they suffer from hypomanic episodes, which is less severe than a manic episode. the difference is huge.

There are plenty of people who react the way carrie does in homeland. I have seen it first hand from a close friend of mine ( I also studied psychological disorders extensively throughout college) and my mom, who is a social worker at a hospital, has handled plenty of cases of people suffering from type I in her life. One of the main things she likes about the show is the accurate portrayal of someone suffering from bipolar I disorder. I can guarantee her opinion is way more qualified than yours.

you need to understand that there are different types and even then not everyone reacts the same way in hypomanic or manic episodes. A writer on the show and consulting producer drew from experiences with her own sister who suffers from ype I. The portrayal isn't sensationalized for TV.

bipolar2 is like the RC Cola of bipolar

hypomatic episodes are depressed people acting normally, compared to their depressed state

bipolar has become the "middle class" or "hooking up" of the behavioral-mood disorders. it has no real meaning anymore

The movie is funny, but anyone would've been good in that.
