re: Is the first fight in TDKR one of the best scenes in a movie?

I don't know which one is better because they are different. the robbery is high adrenaline, fast paced action, while this fight is bane slowly, methodically destroying batman. they are both fantastic scenes, but I may lean more towards the bane scene because, although each was written beautifully, the scene in TDKR connected to the comics.

I can't argue with you. Especially considering we all knew batman would get beaten, but the way it happened was still shocking and disturbing. I've never read a comic before so I'll take your word on that point.

Hell of a scene

Great scene. One great part is how they get into it. Bane saying, "let's not stand on ceremony, mr. Wayne". No bull shite speeches, the villain doesn't reveal his plan, just straight to the point.

Its the only thing about the movie I really liked

Great fight, it felt real. but the stuff around it ugh

To dark and their is one or two blows by Bane that obviously don't land and Batman falls down anyway.

Theme wise I get your point but as a whole the scene is just meh.

yep, and it made the scene even better

Bane was awesome in this movie all around.

Was awesome the first time he spoke in the opening scene.

My favorite line in this movie was from that fight scene.

"You merely adopted the darkness.......I was born in it.....molded by it"

"I didn't see the light until I was already a man. The shadows betray you, because they belong to me."


Also, "you fight like a younger man, with nothing held back. Admirable, yet mistaken."

The most telling line, "Victory has defeated you." All Batman's prior victories left him in a defeatable state.

It is definitely my favorite scene in the movie. I think the fact that no background music was playing during the fight adds to the epicness. It also shows how badass Bane is when his men are just standing around watching Bruce give everything he's got with each swing & bane isn't flinching.
