Not hardly - it aged almost instantly. The visual effects were borderline laughable, even at the time.
Having said that - it is a damned fine movie that, despite the clear flaws, gets better over the years. The movie is largely a 20th Century telling of Moby Dick, but with sharks. The acting and chemistry between the 3 principals, despite all the off-screen stories, makes this a GOAT candidate film.

I fully agree, and I'd submit that's true for almost any movie that has a memorable scene, character, or line. Jaws is basically nothing but those things.
