Didn't realize there was a sequel. The 1st Iron Eagle was a favorite of mine as a kid. Iron Eagle 2 is hot garbage.

There are at least 3 sequels that I know of.
They aren't good.

Shoot, I accidentally bought Iron Eagle 4 on google play. Haven't even watched it because of how bad 2 & 3 are. One is solid as hell and I found it on iTunes.

When they killed off Doug Masters in the first 5 minutes, you knew the movie was going to suck.
What made the 1st one so great was how the kids were able to pull off getting Doug clearance to fly the rescue mission. It was the perfect 80s movie, full of schlock. The main bad guy actually says "Die you American dogs!" How can you beat that?

I remember renting Iron Eagle 2 when it came out on video back in 1989. Loved the first one, but the second one was very disappointing in comparison.

i do like the scene where cobra realized there were migs flying over and they all went into a panic.

I thought ie2 was tight back in the day.
