Complicating the analysis is that the Lannisters have some Targ blood (a scintilla of this was used by Robert's supporters as well).
I just depends on if you think Robert was the last "true" king or if he was a usurper and Aerys the Mad was the last "true" king.
So, like a lot of things in life, you have to pick sides before you really have a contender for the throne.

Couldn't of said it any better.
I think the OP's list is about right though.
I think it's freaking hilarious and yet interesting how the first encounter between Gendry and Jon was a statement on how both their fathers fought together, where instead, one killed the other .
God I love this show.

Rhaegar's marriage was annulled and he was married to Lyanna before she birthed Jon.
Gilly read that note to Sam out loud on Sunday night from the Maester's book. Her reading that would have been pointless if not to prove that the King in the North is the true rightful heir.
Yes, Robert was a usurper. Aerys II was the last true king, and his eldest Son Rhaegar was the rightful heir when he was killed, leaving his son Jon Snow as the true heir to the throne.
Dany will find out when Drogon bends the knee to Jon

I mean Aegon was effectively an usurper also, its all in the eye of the beholder. And winners write the history

Danny is Aerys child, Jon his grandchild. Dany is Jon's aunt.
Unless we're applying the "no queens" rule, Dany gets the successional mob here.
If you believe the Targaryean line is true and the Baratheons are usurpers then Jon is the most legitimate heir as the true born son of Rhaegar. If Dany learns this and continues to assert her claim she is basically like Renly in the war of the 5 kings.
If you believe the Baratheons line is true by conquest then Cersei has the best claim as wife to the king. However her scheming basically has put the Lannister line in place through conquest and killing off her enemies.

that not how the rules of succession work in Game of Thrones
The King's oldest son (The crown prince) is the heir to the throne.
The crown prince's oldest son is the heir after him.
it doesnt matter if the king has a daughter or another son who is older than the crown prince's son.
the crown prince's son is the rightful heir to the throne

Right. Think about current situation in England.
Right now the order is:
Charles (eldest son of Queen Elizabeth) [think Mad King]
William (eldest son of Charles) [think Rhaegar]
George (eldest son of William) [think Jon]
...
Harry (second son of Charles) [think Daenerys]
Harry is after William's children, and it will stay that way. When someone dies, everyone in the line moves up a spot, but there is no reshuffling.

Westeros (except for Dorne) has always followed a male succession so Jon be the rightful heir.

Whoever sits on it
