In a debate with Mrs Iwy. Who else hates Papa John commercials?

I despise this guy. I would never buy a pizza from that place.
The dude has got to be in the middle of every commercial. He tries to relive his high school days with highlight reels of him catches passes in the street in blue jeans.
I'd like to win some kind of contest to get free papa John's pizza for a year and the TV cuts to me like ok sir how excited are you?? And i'm like, ummm.... that's ok, I'm going to Johnnie's.
My wife says I'm the only one who hates this dude. I say he's kind of universally hated.
So I told her I'll start a post to prove it. Ok fellas, time to help me out.

I don't like him or his commercials. Especially the ones with Manning. The guy seems kind of creepy.

Where he lives out in Prospect, KY, his neighbors got super arse pissed because he was using his helicopter so much in their upscale neighborhood. Specifically heard one of the parents I work with call him a "new money dick". I don't know anybody outside of UofL's AD that likes the guy.

I don't really pay attention to them. It's good pizza, as far as delivery quality goes. But, if his advertisers thought that him being in the commercials had an overall negative effect, they'd have pulled him by now.

I find him off putting. Pizza is okay compared to other national chains though

I had this same conversation with my wife two nights ago. We will be a Papa Johns pizza free home for eternity. The dude really weirds me out with his eye brows and seems like a straight up a-hole.

Yeah, I've always had a slightly unfavorable opinion of the guy. I usually turn the channel and avoid commercials but they are sometimes difficult to avoid.
When I started at LSU in the mid-90s, Papa John's was sort of new and it was my favorite chain pizza. The pizzas used to include much more cheese with the toppings under the cheese (now toppings are on top). I don't buy pizza from there because I think the quality is lower than it used to be.
I think the old Verizon (now T Mobile?) guy on the commercials is much more annoying than the Papa John's guy.

I kind of agree with you. John as a person gives off a very annoying/extremely fake vibe in terms of being their TV spokesman. I dont really care for him.
However in terms of Pizza which I love and the limited Louisiana options...Papa Johns does usually offer the best available delivery option.
Who else is there in this state? Marco's? Hungry Howie's? both are ok but not available everywhere.
Louisiana Pizza in general you are most likely ordering Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dominos, or god forbid Little Cesars.
