ETA: I'm referring to kids comic franchises like Avengers, Captain America ect, not cool adult comics like Sin City and The Walking Dead.

ETA: LOL at you virgins.

A guy at work was telling me he found two 1978 comic books in his collection the other day. Turns out each one is worth $150. He likes comic books but also does it for the investment. He would do pretty good but he doesn't sell anything, yet.

Meh. None of us care what you think. Only women let other people's opinions influence their own.

I believe posting in an online forum for movies and TV is enough to qualify for nerd status, so welcome to our collective, nerd.

Times have changed Grandpa. Not only is "nerd" not really considered an insult anymore, it's nearly a compliment.

Winner.

And I would prefer the label "geek" anyways.

Being a geek about LSU football is no different than being a geek for Comic Books. Everyone loves SOMETHING to a ridiculous degree. At least enough to engage other people about it as leisure. That's geekiness.

There are two large geek events tonight actually: Avengers AoU and the NFL Draft. That's a lot of usually overweight geeks loving certain people WAY too much.

I'm not one of them though. Don't care about the draft, and Matinee on Saturday for me. I've got a soccer game at 11:10pm because I'm a soccer geek too.

No

Superheroes aren't for nerds. Going to Star Trek conventions makes you a nerd, not that there's anything wrong with that

Nerd is a fad right now, so people refer to themselves as nerds when they're not. No one is having a "nerdgasm" at the avengers. Movies for nerds don't make more money than anything ever made.

Coming from a guy who it's 99.9% probable that he has a shrine of an alcoholic, wife-beating, dead guy in his house that's a compliment.

I have a friend who really likes the Comic Book movie thing, and I'm way more of a nerd than him. I honestly don't get that excited for them. They've just become Hollywood's go to for big budget action movie that's appropriate for all ages, and I'll go see one if I'm in the mood for a popcorn flick that won't take very much brain power.

I

Love

Superman

So I guess I'm a nerd. But you probably don't realize that nerds are like totally a thing now these days. Chicks dig nerds too, at least the ones with money anyway.

I was wondering if anyone was going to notice this "insult" was started by a member of the worst fanbase in all of athletics. On top of that it's absolutely hilarious that a career "try hard" would call anyone a nerd.

My wife tells me I'm a nerd anytime I'm on TD, so I guess yes.
