I really hope bad things happen to you.

I just watched it for the second time, I hated it even more this time.

It didn't live with me either. It's an either or type of movie. Very little middle ground.

I agree about not deserving of best pic. I liked it, but didn't have a best picture feel after I watched it

Whiplash was my favorite by a pretty big margin from that years nominees

IMO, the best movie since The Prestige/Children of Men in 2006 (badass year for movies).

It wasn't that Birdman was bad, it's just that Whiplash was head and shoulders above everything that year.

I actually liked Birdman, especially the long continuous shot.

But Whiplash is a near perfect movie; the pacing is phenomenal with no lulls and every scene was interesting and important. Besides, a movie must be special when it a movie about jazz is one or the most suspenseful movies I've ever seen.

The best thing about it is that it revitalized Keaton's career. I don't use the word pretentious often, but it's pretentious shite.

No Country and There Will Be Blood were great, but I prefer Whiplash to both. Also underrated (and one of the best Scifi movies ever) was Edge of Tomorrow. So good. Smart movie, so no surprise that it was a box office failure.

I watched maybe the first 10 minutes of it and cut it off. Birdman obviously has an outstanding cast and I get that it's a satirical behind the scenes depiction of Broadway but this is just another movie in which I am not interested in the setting. Also, lead characters who are loud, brash, outlandish and cuss constantly really turn me off. I could not sit through Wolf of Wall Street for the same reason.
