I've never seen this show, so I just watched a few youtube clips of Si to judge this thread. Fear, I think that you and I are just above the common man and these LCD shows.

seriously though, it's not better than Raising Hope, Ben and Kate, Don't Trust the B, Parks and Rec. or Community.. but it's also a reality show, so actually comparing the show to those.. is pointless.

it's pretty typical.. the thing is, other reality shows like honey boo boo and swamp people have REALLY warped what people think about reality shows.. as it's been point out a number of times in this thread, this show is on a level all to itself, it's just a hard sell for people who have been burnt by other reality shows.

My wife recently started watching it and said it is very good, and she is the last person I would have expected to like that type of show. I've seen a couple episodes and thought it was okay, but found it a bit too scripted. I haven't watched enough to get a feel for the characters, and the fact that my wife likes it is reason enough to give it a second look.
I don't know what the concensus on Swamp People is around here, but I love it. I didn't think I'd like it because I grew up catching snakes and alligators, and often had small gators as pets. Didn't think I would enjoy seeing them shot constantly on the show, but I really like several of the characters on there.
