See how ridiculous that sounds?!!! It's hard to believe that some people in their 20s and early 30s haven't seen The Goonies.
However, I was at a work Christmas party this past weekend and 3 millennials told me that they had never seen The Goonies. I'd estimate these millennials to be in their late 20s or early 30s.
One millennial told me that she had seen The Goonies but didn't like it. She said it made no sense. She couldn't understand why kids would waste their last weekend together looking for hidden treasure.
The other millennials chimed in with the following, "Oh...so the movie is about kids who go looking for hidden treasure? That's it? Yeah, I'll pass."
Some director needs to do a "Goonies" for the millennial generation. How would that story go?
Would the kids just stare at their phones all
weekend and lament about moving?
Would Brand find the courage to send a few dick pics to Andy in hopes that she send him a few nip pics?
Would Mouth take to Facebook and bitch about Mrs. Walsh's Hispanic cleaning lady?
Would Mikey post "It's their time out there! On Facebook, it's our time. It's our time on here. That's all over the second we disconnect from the internet."
And the Fratelli's would discover the treasure without any interference from pesky children. Right?

Let me guess: You're a millennial

The Goonies would be a group of 4chan friends trying to enjoy one last adventure before going away for child porn and making threats against the government.
Andy would end up gang-raped by the beloved group of Bronies while Stef periscoped it for all to see.

Sometimes it is still crazy to me seeing all the great movies Josh Brolin has been in. I just picture him in those sweats, headband and riding that bike with training wheels.

I watched it recently for the first time, like about 3 years ago and am mid-late 20's and i really didn't care for it like i was expecting based off the love.
however, i do recognize a lot of it is nostalgia so there's no way to go back in time and watch as a kid. haha.

There would have to be a black goonie, a hispanic, and a tranny. Most of them would have to be girls too. If there are any white male goonies he would have to be really dumb, like borderline retarded, Christian and rich. The Fratellis would all be rich white people.

Whuuuttt? No. Have you seen Ghostbusters and the Ocean's remake news? The only way to diversify is to make everyone WOMEN. You might have a token minority, but diversity means women only.

There's already two girls. Unless you want to make Brant a lesbian.

Dude, I've met people in the army who have never seen the goonies, sandlot, hook, or the breakfast club! How ridiculous! I could never trust any of them.
