I still have Sling, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime with fire stick. I am a cord cutter.

I may do Sling. I do not like Hulu, because they keep throwing ads in the shows.

So what happens when your friend decides to cut the cord and stops handing you free shite?

Sling is quick and easy and good for live sports and shows.

Hulu, is like 11 dollars a month (4 dollars more) for ad free shows FYI.

To anyone interested in the growing trend to cut the cord and stop giving your money to the thieves, my OP is an example of my experience and how I did it. To those who feel the ethics are inverse, I suggest you don't do it. Simple as that.

I haven't tried any of the specialized devices, but whenever I've tried to stream from either a laptop or a gaming device (PS3, 360), I get lag and pixelating. I'm currently on the 2nd Cox tier (essential, I think, it's the one that recently had a pretty big increase in speed).
I've tried with watchespn, epix, encore, hbo etc. It's just unwatchable, compared to legit cable.
In addition, I've tried several antenna, from powered new types, to an old one in my attic. I can't get all the local channels without moving the antenna. I'm in the Central area, not out in the middle of nowhere.

What is the setup that will account for that?

"Hey man I cut my cable and have been using Johnny's information. But he cut his cable now too. So can I get your password so i can still see all the stuff you still pay for? Thanks broseph. Oh and also expect a text from Johnny."

I stopped paying for cable about two years ago and I now just use my parents DirecTV password for everything along with their Netflix account.

They live in the middle of bumfrick nowhere and don't have wifi so they actually use Netflix only for the DvD service.

If what I'm doing is wrong in your eyes, then don't bitch when I frick your wife for you being a pussy.

I use my parent's login info. They aren't going to cut the cord. They can't even work a DVD player.

It's that shameful in your eyes, then so be it. Doesn't bother me.

damn right

if my parents ever cut the cord, which they never will, I guess I would pay for Sling

until then, I'll continue to "mooch" or whatever it is y'all call it

they don't use the streaming services and they are paying for them, so I don't see why it would be a big deal to let me use them

Parents are different imo. That's perfectly normal.

Bumming around from friend to friend asking for passwords is not.

An adult using their parent's log in to save $100 a month is not normal. It's embarrassing, but apparently acceptable with young folks sticking it to the man.

internet speed and the programs being used are the key. I have had very little to no lag issues with what I have watched.

I believe it is only available on Amazon FireTV, so you would need that device.

It's also available on Google Nexus Player, which is what I use. Just download it for free from the Google play store.

Like you, I already subscribe to Hulu+, Netflix, Amazon Instant and have shared passwords for HBOgo, Showtime on Demand, and WatchESPN.
Kodi is just another tool in my aresenal. Used it to finish watching the Mad Men series since Netflix doesn't have all eps yet. Also use it for Orphan Black, The Americans, Bates Motel etc... All eventually available on Netflix or Amazon, I'm just watching earlier.

I always love the irony of Tigerdroppings; where a man steals food or electronics from a store and is called a thug, but its ok to steal content from pirated sources because its on the internet.
