I watched it on crackle. I think every month or so a new season starts. I think the show is good and the rewatch is easier than the wire. It just paces better.

Better than Breaking Bad. Not quite as good as the Wire.

If you can't find it anywhere to stream, you can get the entire series for under $30 on Amazon.
The first season is important, but it really hits the groove from season 2 and on. And of course, the final two episodes....wow, just wow.

How is The Shield? What does it compare to?
Some folks scoff when I compare it to The Wire and The Shield (both of those HBO, of course), but it was an excellent effort by FX to make a similar series.
It has parallel stories - the Strike Team, a corrupt special operations unit that has convinced itself it does more good than harm, street cops dealing with the realities of early 21st century Los Angeles, detectives running relatively ordinary police procedural stories and a political opportunist captain who wants to springboard to the Mayor's office.
The acting is top tier, IMHO, and the writing borders on outstanding, throughout. Not perfect (even Sopranos and The Wire had dips and valleys), but worth watching for Chiklis' Vic Mackey character, alone, with everything else being lagniappe. I have it as a top tier show and GOAT candidate. The best series pilot/finale combo in television history, again, IMHO.

I was hooked in the first 5 min. I have no clue why this show isn't available on any of these streaming programs.

one of my all time favorites. I agree with most of what was said earlier. Just so many twists and turns, and betrayals. You never know exactly what is gonna happen except one thing. Vic Mackey is gonna find a way for him to survive. The ending was poetic justice. Anthony Anderson got my respect from this series. I think he is a great actor. ( and yes their were some roll your eyes moments, but every series goes through that)
About a year ago I watched the first episode with my girlfriend who had never seen it. At the end of the episode, she literally jumped and said OMG at what happened. She was hooked after that.

Well, maybe Six Feet Under has an argument. Maybe.

Surprised the complete series DVD is so cheap. $30 on Amazon. Might have to just buy it and binge it

The Shield, The Wire, and Sopranos all started & ended their run around the same time. I binged The Shield after the first season because Chiklis won a Golden Globe & Emmy for his role. Otherwise, I watched all 3 as they aired. The Shield might have been my favorite. All 3 were fantastic & nothing compared to them for me until Breaking Bad.
