Well, we know there is at least a reception, because we've already seen Ted watching the Mother place bass at it.
But I agree...I think Ted screams at both Barney and Robin to talk some sense into them, turns it very personal...and just can't stay for the entire reception.

Do you think we actually get to know the mother or will the series end with him meeting her and that's it?

Who gives a shite.
The show is about Ted....and how he met the mom.

Wedding bands play till the end of wedding receptions. If ted leaves early, the bass player wouldn't be on his train.

Didnt watch the episode last night, was it good?

We call that foreshadowing, folks. That end tag I think supports Ted, not Barney. We are headed for a wedding day disaster of some sort. Probably Ted will save the day at personal cost, which leads to him walking off by himself in the rain to the train station.
Perhaps.
Although I think Barney eventually "grows up." He has to. And actually, this season has had him making HUGE steps toward growing up. So he'll continue to grow up until he eventually doesn't have any doubts about leaving his womanizing past behind. Even last night, he didn't have any problems with his "But I can still LOOK" stance at the bar. He's accepted that he can't bag chicks anymore, and eventually his horndoggedness (for other women) will settle as well.

It had it moments. Marshall was hilarious.

I don't see any conceivable way that we don't meet her in the season finale and/or next season's premier.
There is a rumor out there (well...one of the producers mentioned it) that they are going to try a completely different story telling device next year for the final season. The rumor is, and this is a spoiler I guess, that there will be chunks of the season that are told completely from the Mother and her friend's point of view, events that intersect with big moments in Ted's story. The mother telling her side. Part of that is to appease the cast and get them less episodes, so they would be willing to come back for another season.
So I think we'll see her and she will get fleshed out. I hope at least. My personal theory is that she and Ted will meet, and then most of the rest of the season is him trying to meet her again, win her over, etc.

I think robin's behavior at the end confirmed what Barney said...she is cool with how he acts.
Didnt we clear that up already in the episode about Robin falling in love with Barney for who he is when she wanted him to sell his apartment?
I kinda agreed with Barney. It's not really Teds place to judge, especially given Ted's history with meddling.

RELATIVELY MINOR SPOILERS REGARDING THE SEASON FINALE
THESE ARE SPOILERS BASED ON CONJECTURE ON THE SEASON FINALE PLOT SYNOPSIS and PICTURES
SERIOUSLY, SPOILERS. PLOT SYNOPSIS INCLUDED.
YOU SURE?
It doesn't look like the wedding even takes place in the season finale. According to the plot synopsis and pictures coming out, it appears that it is the days and hours leading up to the wedding, but not the wedding itself.
Sigh.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (8:00-8:30 PM)
As the gang prepares to go to Robin and Barney’s wedding, Ted invites Lily to see the house he's finally finished fixing up. Meanwhile, Robin and Barney’s night of relaxation is ruined by an obnoxious couple (Casey Wilson and Keegan-Michael Key), and Marshall takes the baby on a last-minute trip to Minnesota to see his family.
End Spoilers.

Agree to an extent. Robin knows Barney and their business is just that, their business. But Ted and Barney are still best friends, and Ted was just speaking his mind. Barney acted like a total dick and completely belittled him.

Exactly. I would WANT my closest friends to tell me something.
Barney reacted like that because a) Robin and Ted have a history and no matter what he says, he's not comfortable with it. and b) there is some truth to what Ted says.

Exactly. He could've just said "thanks Ted, but I think we've got it worked out" instead of "She knows me better than you ted. She's with ME, not YOU. Robin is marrying ME, not YOU". It came off as really trying to hurt ted.

Barney all ready grew up and developed into a guy that wanted to move past his bachelor ways and have kids (ahemmm), but the writers threw all that away to get him and Robin together and reduced him back down to a guy scared of commitment to make it fit.

Agree with both. Like I said, normally Ted meddles, but this time it seemed like he actually wasn't, and was talking straight up to one of his best friends. Completely awkward for Barney to act like that. Of course Barney is right, but you don't have to be a dick about it...and what Ted said was true too and he made a good point. That whole scene was just kinda weird and awkward, and no matter how cool Robin is with it, at some point he'll push that line and she won't be.

Maybe Robin is acting so cool about this because she is feeling guilty for NOT TELLING BARNEY SHE CANT HAVE KIDS WHEN THERES TWO WEEKS BEFORE THEY GET MARRIED
If she doesnt feel bad about that, then she should.

I think it's dumb to make Robin so cool with it. Feel like they made it that way so Barney could keep up his antics for laughs.

I dont know....
Think about why Ted and robin didn't work.....they wanted the other person to be something they weren't.
Robin and barney seem to be happy with who the other one is and not want to change them.

Yeah. You're right. But still. Little over the top to think she's okay with all of this. Maybe it'll be something that causes a rough wedding.
