I realize he is regarded very highly in most circles, Usually in the top 5 of the most powerful but I am unsure

The guy seems to be mostly a foot soilder for the Jedi council during the prequels and doesn't display a lot of use of the force in the OT other than a few mind tricks

All this being said I love Obi Wan but I kinda question why he is so highly regarded

I mean you know how Star Wars fandom is, I've seen many fan rankings of these type of things

If we want to ignore those then fine but let's answer where he ranks

Honestly, this was a missed opportunity in the prequels. Obi Wan should have been an absolute renegade and outcast in the Jedi, kind of like Qui Gon was. He'd refuse to see Anakin's faults and raise him against the council's wishes. Anakin then latches onto Obi Wan's unorthodox views of the Jedi, and begins to perceive them as weak unable to embrace the full power of the Force.

Anakin would then experiment with the Dark Side to increase his own power, go rogue, and when Obi Wan comes to confront him, Anakin thinks he'll gladly join him to make a new reformed Jedi Order. Obi Wan would realize he poisoned Anakin's mind and has to kill him for everything horrible he did beforehand and what he plans to do.

Vader is regarded as one of the most powerful Jedi/Sith, behind maybe only the Emperor.

And Kenobi is one of the very few to best Vader in a fight.

He's pretty good.

Well to be fair to Vader, Obi Wan did have the high ground.

In A New Hope, things happen exactly as he wishes.

On a die note, once Luke learns that Obi Wan has been watching him in Ghost form, doesn't that make things really awkward.

Lukw gets on instigram to jerk off to Leia and he hears Obi Wan saying "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

In the "Disney" Star Wars universe? Top 5. In the expanded universe? Top 200 maybe.

He was the master of defense and was embodiment of what a Jedi was meant to be, IN TERMS of the Jedi Order.

Which, I think and feel was the wrong way to use the force, because they did not know hate, rage, pain or love, they fell.

Total bullshite that he defeated anikan

The high ground thing is so dumb.

They should have made Anikan get hit by a lava ball during fight then obi wan carve him up while he's already hurt.

I wish Lucas had hired you to write the prequel scripts.

Anyway, Obi Wan was good enough to kill Darth Maul, defeat Anakin, go toe to toe with Vader in New Hope before letting himself die, and was able to come back as a Jedi ghost which mustn't be easy since no other Jedi seem to do it.

But I get what the OP is saying. So many times in the prequels Obi shows himself good with the light saber but rarely uses the force powers.

Anyone see the Luke/Vader "High Ground" meme?

"It's over father, I have the high ground"

"I'm not falling for this shite again (throws lightsaber)"
