House of Cards (Spoilers now through S2E2)

Please no more spoilers past this point.
But Jesus Francis, there was no need to do that to Russo. Russo said he was going to drop out the next day. I got some serious feels when Russo called his daughter and was outside the house. Very hard for me to watch.
I could tell from the beginning Frank was ruthless, but last night took it to a whole new level.
I know it makes for a better show and storyline, but why did Frank bring Russo in to begin with? I just find it hard to believe that he thought far enough ahead when he bailed him out of jail that he would eventually get the VP to run for Governor and vacate his seat. ETA: I guess he saw him as a pawn since he bailed him out that he could use later? Makes sense.
Two other things, the POTUS may be the biggest pansy in the world and Stamper = Love his character!

Just wait, my friend.
You guys serious? I was definitely not expecting what I saw last night and judging by those comments there will be more.
I was thinking this would be a fun watch with some drama, but like I said, last night took it somewhere I was not expecting the show to go.

I think you severely underestimate Frank.

^^^^
The characters on this show are some of the best in the biz.

Frank is a ruthless user of people. Russo was just his coming out party.

I guess so. I knew he was pretty ruthless from the start, but damn, last night just threw me.
BTW, slightly off topic, but when he returned to his college, was the whole bit with his buddy to reveal that he was gay/bi in the past? That threw me too.

You're thinking small picture. Frank thinks big picture and is about 20 steps ahead of you

I am going to binge this show soon. Is it worth it? My son said I would really like it.
