As I've stated in the past, I don't consider this show to be any great shakes, and I'm disappointed it's going to get another season when I think ending now would be to its benefit, but I do acknowledge that Netflix can cut a trailer for it.

It's time to cut bait on the hackneyed political commentary the show has convinced itself it's good at and amp up the camp. The final stretch needs to entirely consist of Kevin Spacey going nuts and behaving like a comic book villain. It's really the only thing that can save it.

I liked it. Hopefully we see more bloodshed this season. With that being said, I didn't absolutely hate S3. But it was a step behind S1 & S2.

Eh, it's more like highly watchable trash. I enjoy it for what it is, but it's got this weird identity crisis going on where it can't decide whether it's high camp or prestige drama. It's really the former, but the poor attempts to be the latter make the whole thing suffer.

It doesn't suck. It's just not a great show like Breaking Bad or The Wire. It's entertaining, though.

Great trailer. I think the music is from the soundtrack of There Will Be Blood.

Can't wait for this season. I love the show but Season 3 was awful. It just became a caricature of itself. Looks like the Russian President is going to make move on Claire.

I wouldn't go that extreme. The best scene of the entire show is in season 2, but yeah it steadily trends down over time. 3 was, in my personal opinion, not all that good. It was a chore for me to finish, but I know not everyone feels that way. I may not even watch 4.

I think that a lot of people though still hold it in high regard just because of how great it started. This show needs to be treated fairly though, ala Dexter, and people need to be more vocal about how it started great then has slipped. I don't know how anyone could say 3 was on the same level as 1 and 2. And the assumed major storyline for 4 is just...bleh.

Not at all. Not even a HOC fanboy. Just saying it felt very "Dear Diary" of you when I clicked on the thread for the trailer.

Maybe change your subject to "House of Cards trailer and random thoughts"

Season 3 was terrible filled with irrational plots that couldn't happen in a million years. The move to make Claire a key component was a total failure.

The best thing that could happen in season 4 would be Claire dying of a stroke 20 seconds into the first episode.

I think season 4 is primed for one hell of a comeback. Underwood is going to fall kicking and screaming and Claire is going to do it to him. Season 3 was really shaky but the overall plot I think sets up well; frank can't slither around and manipulate quite like he could before becoming president. I think this thing ends in assassination

Are we allowed to discuss the British series in the context of speculation? The U.S. version has done plenty of stuff differently (particular in terms of expansion), but I have a sneaking suspicion the story will end along the same lines.

Seasons 1 was great. Flawless really.

Season 2 was strong and developed the plot pretty well.

Season 3 was entertaining, but it becomes hard to watch a show when you hate one of the main characters (Claire) so much. I actually really liked her in seasons 1 and 2. She was smart and driven. But in the third season, she just came across as needy, entitled, and completely incompetent at her job.

Idk how season 4 is going to set up. Frank's dug himself a pretty big hole at the end of season 3 so it's going to be interesting to see how he gets out of this one.

I don't mind discussing it (not sure how others will react) but I have avoided it this far primarily to keep some element of surprise alive. But then I would be interested to track the differences moving forward since season 3 went a little off the rails
