Don't get all the hate. The characters have evolved. Frank is in the most difficult position in the world. Sure there are unrealistic moments in policy but it's not the west wing. The presidency is straining their marriage.

Not bad TV. From what this board says, I thought season 3 was going to be god awful.

I've enjoyed it. Had some of the best episodes in the series.

It's not Frank that's the problem. It's Claire. Everything that comes out of her mouth and happens to her is infuriating. Just her being the US Ambassador to the UN, holy shite, that's one of the worst plot lines in television history. The show has just become a parody of itself.

Not to mention they did a total reset button with that season.

Season 3 was easily the worst of the seasons. It wasn't complete garbage, but pretty lackluster comparatively. They'll never top the first season.

I greatly enjoyed it too. How many times can Frank push a writer into oncoming trains or break the neck of a dog?

People love to be critical.

It is definitely differently from Season one and two. I am only halfway through season three, and Francis has done nothing as president but get his shite kicked in everywhere in everything, even getting cuckolded by the Russian President. I'm curious how he resolved that issue and the domestic ones as well. the Solicitor General just declared she was running (that is where I am at).

They should have just had Stamper die. I swear Stamper is the head writer working out some sort of mommy issues or something.

I've found that this board is too critical of HoC. It's clearly changed from S1 & S2. But in many ways it had to. Season 4 was a good watch.

It's not that either. The writing was just awful on top of that. The writers think they're much better and clever than they really are.

Just the metaphors for that season, think about how lazy they were. Frank pissing on his father's grave, Frank spitting on Jesus and the statue falling, and Claire breaking a few eggs to make an omelet. I was in disbelief over the last one thinking there must be some more clever subtext that I just missed like Claire being pregnant, but nope, it was as simple and stupid as it sounds. It is shite that someone would write in a Freshman screenwriting class.

The only interesting character in all of season 3 is the Russian president, Petrov. He had some good dialogue with Frank.

Bill Clinton has called House of Cards 99% Accurate regarding DC politics.

If that's really the case, DC needs to be burnt down to the fricking ground Sherman style and the brits didn't do a good enough job in 1812.

Signed up for Netflix the other day and I'm only two seasons in and this show is fricking unbelievable. It's got me all kinds of fricked up in the head. This may be the first show where I hated damn near every character on the show including the "protagonists" and title characters and wanted them to die a painful death.

So far I've seen murder, bribery, prostitution, drugs, blackmail/extortion, evidence and witness tampering, perjury, threatening a pregnant woman's baby, rape victims being manipulated for politics, and tons of other blue collar crime mixed in with the white collar crime, insider trading, illegal campaign contributions from the Chinese, and bullshite shenanigans with lobbyists, All in all, a lot of innocent people's reputations are destroyed to cover up the failings of the politicians.

It's such a depressing series to watch about DC politics. It's definitely how I imagine what the Clintons to be like in real life.

I stopped after season two for a good bit but this just might convince me to start season 3.

I want terrible, terrible, things to happen to the Underwoods.

They really did abandon all plots from season 3. Look Claire wants to be a good person, never mind. Look Doug is getting his life together, never mind. I liked the focusing on individual stories but they abandoned most. The Russian president was good though.

I've actually had a movie trilogy idea which I think would be one of the greatest movies of all time. Really do what House of Cards is doing with the Clintons into the Underwoods but making them much less cartoonish. Yes, names would have to be changed as well as some locations in order to not get sued into the ground, but do an actual thorough investigation into the lives of Bill and Hillary and how they got where they are and what they did while they were in power.

Really the entire trilogy would be the Godfather meets Citizen Kane in tone. I've been really reading into their backgrounds recently, and their story is utterly amazing, astounding, and sickening, and they need to be exposed for a level of corruption that had never been seen in presidential politics before or since. First film would end with Bill's election to the White House, second would end with him leaving the White House, and third would be Hillary's Ascention to the position with each film being 3 to 3.5 hours long. Could be a Part 4 of their story continued for long enough.

But anyone who went out to make this movie would get killed though, but reading through their background, I'm convinced it would be the most important movie of the 21st century, similar in a way Wells exposed William Randolph Hurst. Unfortunately The Underwoods are more of a mustache twirling villain type that no one takes seriously. The real Bill Clinton is more like Michael Corleone, save for him being an idealist which makes him worse than Michael.
