So I binged watched the previous seasons last Fall, but now finishing this last season I am lost. Season 5 seemed different than the last and did not flow very well.
The Conway plot was horrible. This is a guy with zero political issues and all the sudden goes PTSD. Zero chance an election plays out like that, zero. Tennessee and Ohio would certify votes. Absentee votes would be sent to the remainder of the people who had not cast a vote. Republicans controlled the House as well, zero chance they would not vote in Conway on the first chance if it got to that point.
Through 4 seasons, there were 2 key killings with Zoe and Rachel to deal with. In this season they just kill whomever they want. It is too many deaths floating around, the writers watch a little too much Game of Thrones. That is not how politics works here (even for the Clintons).
The Doug and Laura relationship was somewhat believable until the end. Oh your the reason my husband is dead, great lets boink.
Frick it, I am done with this show and that stinks. I really did like the first seasons.

It's always been over the top, now they are reaching.
I bet they do the Congressional baseball game next year and the brushback pitches would be legendary.

I just wanna know what happened to Conway.
Did he go all Mel Gibson in the Patriot and slaughter the Taliban?

It's really gone on a Heroes level spiral at this point. Could have been one all time greats if Netflix had integrity and made it 3 seasons. That's all it should have been, but instead they whored out.

I agree, I've only watched 4 episodes so far and it is hard to fricking follow. There is always a new person they "introduce" without every explaining where the frick they came from or who they are. You have to figure it out yourself based on the hints. The first few seasons were gold. Last season and this one is bronze at best.

Yeah, the Conway thing does irk me the most. Such a key piece in Season 4 and half of season 5 and then boom gone. Everyone then turns on Conway with the tape release and just ignore the laundry list of items released about the Underwoods.
I did not expect them to have him win, but it was just piss poor writing on how it played out. Repubs had the numbers at the state level, so not sure how they get split (25-25) votes. Tennessee and Ohio are red states in the series.
