I have not seen it yet but have a chance to see it later this week in Imax 3D, which (unlike many) I don't mind.

Will it be worth it?

Real IMAX or fake Imax?

If you mean it is showing at a real IMAX then sure, why not.

I saw it in non 3D, non IMAX once and in 3D IMAX twice. 3D IMAX is the way to go.

I saw whatever IMAX is at AMC at the Mall. It was a great experience. I don't know if that is considered real or fake.

That's not true IMAX, but it's still pretty cool. I saw Interstellar there, and it was pretty awesome (though the soud/music was literally deafening and distracting at times).

I saw The Hobbit in a regular theater, and it was fine.

Fist, how it is shot. 70mm vs 35mm.

No film is 100% 70mm but some movies have just a few 70mm and push IMAX when it is barely noticeable.

Second, screen size. Real IMAX dwarfs the AMC experience.

Think there is even a bit more to it than that, but that is what I know.

I'm not convinced it was worth seeing in 2d regular theater. There was a lot of turd in that movie.

Just came out and it was one big fight scene with little dialog and tons of action scenes.

worth the money IMO.

the previews for Mad Max looked awesome and hooked me.

I saw it imax 3d. I didn't think it was worth it. It didn't seem like it was really geared all that much for 3d. I'm typically not all that impressed by 3d though.

Same here. Does real IMAX mean it has to be in an IMAX dedicated theater? I saw it at a Regal theater IMAX (I guess fake?), but I thought it was great. I'm very pick about the movies I watch in 3D or Imax (fake) 3D. This is only my second one. Since the movie was mostly set outside with great scenery and visually interesting fight scenes, totally worth it.

My daughter and I saw Avengers in 3D IMAX, and for the previews and first 20 minutes of the movie it was too much. The sound overpowered everything and was uncomfortable for both of us. I looked around and saw a few people actually holding their hands over their ears. Then about 20 minutes in the volume lowered noticeably and it was all good after that. Guess they had something cranked up too high.

I'd see every movie in IMAX 3D if I could. I find the picture quality blows a regular screen out of the water.
