Btw I was disgusted at the multiple jokes about lily pooping. Yes, I realize that in real life females do that. But it's still not something I want to think about, I definitley don't want to hear repeated references to lily "dumping out". Didn't find that funny at all.

You must not be married.
I took it as a barometer for marriage...they even referenced that they wouldnt piss in front of each other years ago.

I'm not, but I even said that I get that's a normal part of life. Everyone poops. I'm sure married couples over time get more and more comfortable with each other, I get it. All I'm saying is that when I'm watching a sitcom I don't really want to see jokes about women taking shits.

Just because Robin had a fear at the beginning of the episode about legendary=lies, then at the very end of the episode saget says the wedding was legendary, in no way means it was a lie or something crazy.
I agree. Just because Robin equated the two doesn't mean Ted does. I think making the big deal about Barney and his lies was just a set up for his singular vow, not that the entire series has been a sham and they are going to pull a surprise twist ending for Robin being the mother. They've also gone out of their way to show how Ted and the Mother fit so well together. She's definitely a better fit for Ted than Robin.

The hell? I"m not talking about writing letters in protest, I just said that's not really something I want to see in a comedy show. Damn. If you love seeing jokes based on women shitting it up more power to you, I"m sure there's a corner of the internet that has everything you're looking for.

Y'all obviously missed the point Barney made at the end......telling robin he would never lie to her again.....
Legendary didn't mean lies.....that was the point......Robin and Barney were insinuated to be married in the sandwich episode......one of the best all time.

IDK...when she said it's a Deuce Marshall and Deuces are wild...I laughed my tail off

I wasn't a big fan of having Robin and Ted bullshite yet again, but whatever. They sure as hell keep throwing up ALL kinds of red flags about why Robin and Barney shouldn't be together, including the whole "legendary = lie" thing and ending the episode with that. But whatever.
I was cool with seeing it again, because Ted told her to frick off and stick with Barney when she was throwing herself at him. Ted finally didn't take the bitch route with Robin, he had actually moved on with the stupid arse flying away scene.

So basically it was as I predicted, and a "Robin finally lets go of Ted" twist to the ol' "Ted finally lets go of Robin" schtick.
Well played writers, well played.

I almost spit out my drink when she yelled that out. Almost made up for the stupid shite she's been doing the past few weeks.

Solid episode, as have most of the latter half of the season been. The mother referencing her "detective" work as kid was another nice touch since she's becoming a female version of and perfect match for Ted.
I legit lol'd at the last slap as it just comes out of nowhere and while they're on the alter
Next Monday will be very bittersweet. I'm excited to see the end and I have confidence it won't disappoint fans, but I'll be said to see it go.

The slap was awesome. Perfectly places to end the slap bet
Lily yelling out deuces are wild was hilarious.
Was actually glad to see the Ted and robin thing the way they did it. I always complain about that and about how Ted is such a bitch about it. But this was good to see. Robin finally thinking Ted is the right guy and Ted saying no. I feel like that whole thing is really closed for good finally.
Great episode. Had some good funny moments and some good touching, though a little cheesy, moments. But I like some cheesy here and there.
Will have a huge sad next week. It's definitely time but hate to see the show go.

Agreed. I am wondering where the sad will come from.

I am really starting to lean toward the Ted will have the disease instead of the mother. Even though he said no mother should miss their kids wedding, Ted is a girl most of the time. Who knows, I rather not see a death and have a good wrap up.

I think the show deftly completed the arc of its problematic character. Barney is a funny character who, if he existed in the real world, would be a horrifying person. He's a degenerate liar who has possibly raped hundreds of women (I say possibly if you consider invalid consent to be rape -- I don't actually think he's a rapist, but I am pointing out some people would and the very least, his behavior is icky).
Now, the show has always dealt with this by always letting us see the wounded little boy underneath the posturing. It gave Barney some depth that a lesser actor than NPH might have fumbled. Barney could've easily been a cardboard character and not a real person. But the more you make him a real person, the more his elaborate lies actually ARE a dramatic problem. Robin's got a point. And while I like their relationship and always have (and my heart not so secretly fills with glee when douchey bros get pissed that Barney has been neutered by growing up), even his proposal was based on deceit.
For Barney to then see the best relationship he knows inspire him to form a marriage based on trust and honesty is a remarkable and terrific character arc. Barney didn't find the locket, but he doesn't need to lie anymore for things to be legendary. It doesn't clean up his past, but it made everything he did leading to this point when he found the person he was willing to change for. The final slap is the last piece of his old life. He starts fresh.

wow. Great write-up though. I think you nailed it and summed it up perfectly. I have to completely agree with you here

EXACTLY....well said.
The thing that is missed in all of this are the suttle hints of past episodes that people missed.
It has been well known to avid followers that Robin and Ted don't end up together......The closure was the only thing viewers were missing but YOUR AUNT ROBIN had been said MANY MANY TIMES.......
I've been impressed with the last 3 epidsodes more so than the crap leading up to the wedding.......although there were some cool answers incorporated into it.

It's a comedy, Barney is a hilarious, even though absolutely horrible character to women. I can see why you don't like his old character because of the way he treated an entire gender throughout the show, but it made for a good TV comedy. However the character would have lost a lot by growing up well prior to the ending of the show, his growing up doesn't bother me due to that one simple fact that we won't have to see him as this person beyond the series finale. If the series continued, it would of been the absolute death of the character as they pretty much did with Robin when they made her Barney 2.0 instead of the character she had been throughout the series.
I don't know if this has been said here, but where in the crap was Robin's sister for the wedding?
