Have you ever gone to a movie, sat through the previews, and then left.

I did that. I think I've done it before too. I thought I wanted to go to the movies tonight, and when I got there, realized I wasn't in the mood.

Only once in 1999 to see the first trailer for Star Wars Episode 1. I was not the only one. I don't remember the movie but there was a mass exodus after the previews. Of course now you can just watch the trailer online, but there was no other way of seeing the trailer back then.

Serious flake move. Your friends, if you have any, snicker about this behind your back. I guarantee it.

No but when watching at home, sometimes I'll be watching the beginning with the name of the studio, then "so and so presents" and "a so and so film", then the title will appear, and I'll think to myself "man, I'm not in the mood to watch this now" and I'll turn it off and watch TV.

Geez, on a Saturday night I imagine that cost you like $11+ for one ticket right? And you walked out?

Between 8-10 dollars. I just realized when I sat down that I really didn't want to be there.

As for friends finding out, most people I know view movies as a pastime for the lazy and poor so I make a point to not bring movies. So they'll never know.

I've never done this without seeing at least seeing some movie. I think I went to see the previews for Dreamcatcher so I could catch the Final Flight of the Osiris. But I left after that to see another film. I don't even remember what movie I went to see that night. But damn, that's a lot of money to spend.

Damn I remember reading about whatever movie had the trailer experienced a higher than expected opening because of people buying a ticket just to see the trailer.

I only watch the previews, then buy another ticket a couple hours later to make sure I don't miss the ending credits

I did the same thing. About 30 of us SW diehards got up and walked out as soon as the trailer was over.
