Has WarGames lost its relevance?

While a nuclear attack of the dirty bomb variety is still a fear for Americans, an all-out nuclear war seems highly unlikely since the fall of the Soviet Union. Do movies like WarGames (the 1983 gem starring Matthew Broderick) still give Americans chills at what could happen, or did the collapse of the USSR make this movie and others obsolete?
I think it is still worth a watch for junior high kids, even today. It has the 'computers running too much' angle, what computer hackers can do, and some historical value showing the USA hasn't always been the lone super power. It did a fair job of displaying the tension that existed during the cold war, and I think the uncertainty of being too dependent on computers.
Plus, think of the great lines. What kid wouldn't want to play as the Russians in a game of Global Thermonuclear War?

I think it's still relevant. The missiles are still out there, and while a global war is less likely, there's still the possibility of a rogue launch.

The pre-fall wall was rich fodder for film scripts. As far as chills I'd go with The Day After for the us vs. them movies though.

In 20 years, we could still see an awesome movie about fighting Germans in WWII or terrorist attacks on 9/11. That will take generations to lose its relevance to Americans. The Cold War was incredible for movies while it was going on, but when was the last big movie that even mentioned the Soviets?
