Seem like fairly entertaining science fiction movies. They are on HBO Go and I was thinking of watching unless they suck

I watched the first one... nothing too special about it. Typical young adult dystopian sci-fi akin to Hunger Games.

They're your standard teen action movies minus the forced romance angle. The first one had a mixture of Lord of the Flies and The Cube feel while the second one had a post apocalyptic feel to it. They're good but nothing special

Watch them if you have HBO. Definitely won't be jumping into your Top 10 GOAT list, but I enjoyed them.

Looks like they're aimed at the Hunger Games crowd. I think I'll pass.

First one was ok at best. Second one was absolutely atrocious. I've grown to utterly despise any young adult movie outside of Harry Potter. They are all so terrible written.

This right here is the key. This is why I like them. The characters are realistic. They're neither helpless whiny bitches nor superhuman, and there's little cliche romantic subplot or cheesy one liners.

if the cast had been older it would have been more enjoyable. Felt like it was aimed at the divergent crowd.

Says the guy who used an adjective instead of an adverb.

I've only seen the first one. It wasn't great by any means, but it was enjoyable enough for a single viewing. I'd never go back and watch it again.

Love the books!
Movies were great IMO.
Second one was amazing.
Lead actor was Injured filming the third movie :/
He got ran over by a movie prop car. So it's going to be awhile til the third one gets done.

I went into the first one not knowing anything about it and never read the books, and I really enjoyed both movies.

I'm enjoying the first one. Not great, not bad.

Is this kid the next Paul Walker? He reminds me of him a lot.

My kids showed no interest.

I watched about 10 minutes and lost interest.

I liked the first one. Definitely a Lord of the Flies feel. Second one we turned off after 45 minutes or so. It was completely different than the first one

Spoilers

As soon as the zombies came into play, it went straight downhill. Does every show have to have zombies now?

I really enjoyed the 1st one. The 2nd one was ok but it felt like a bridge the gap type movie knowing there will be a 3rd movie

but both are good HBO movies
