Could be they're both "expensive" to make but one is a cultural icon and one is Futurama.

First 10 seasons of The Simpsons is the greatest show ever. But it has been terrible for a long time and porked Angela over 10 years ago.
Futurama was still great to the end. It hasn't had the chance to pork Angela yet. It may have plateaued a few seasons back but it was still going strong.
