MGM would hopefully give the rights up, would seem really greedy and petty not to. The TV show is awesome so it wouldn't "hurt the stock" of SotL. We may never get to that point anyway...

How pissed was DDL when SotL was that huge, wow.

Manhunter was ahead of its time, period. The stupid name probably didn't help.

woman hunter would have generated more interest for sure.

Anyway, will be watching it this week. Is it going to feel really dated?

It wears its 80sness completely on its sleeve, but I consider that a feature, not a bug.

I still haven't gotten used to this moving to Saturday nights. Anyways, I watched this morning and I loved seeing Will back on the scene.

I'm still holding out that Hulu will pick this up. But who knows at this point.

I think Fuller intends to re-open conversations with potential partners after his American Gods stint. Hannibal can survive a year plus long hiatus. In fact, if it has a future, I see it resembling BBC Sherlock - short seasons produced whenever the team can band together as opposed to on a fixed schedule.

A miniseries format wouldn't hurt Hannibal - in fact, it's already there, with this season really just being a pair of back-to-back miniseries that are seven and six episodes long, respectively.

I'm ok with whatever as long as they keep the same core cast.

So apparently Gillian Anderson's "I want to crush it" speech was inspired by this quote from Jodie Foster from a 1994 interview.

quote:

Look, it's terrible, I know, but weakness really, really bugs me, to the point that if there is a wounded bird on the sidewalk, I look at it and I go, `I think I'll just kick it.'

That whole scene was a fantastic interaction.

I'm going to rewatch the most recent episode. Because it was fantastic to watch.

It totally flips Dr. Du Maurier's script in a that clean cold way that D is described.

How did you make that connection?

Bryan Fuller tweeted that the dialog was inspired by Jodie's quote.

Can you explain what you mean here?

So did Scully basically go to help the patient but instead once she stuck her hand down his throat to help him clear his airway, she instead decided to "crush" him? He was annoying

Exactly that.

So why exactly did Hannibal give himself up so that Will would know where he is at all times and then set the Tooth Fairy to kill his family?

Hannibals motivation is all over the place. I think he just wants to be in control/powerful and the best way to do that was to arrange for wills family to die. That is his way of telling everyone he still is in control.

I thought that Wills family basically having no security especially after Will just bumped into the dragon was a little far fetched.

Hannibal is essentially the crazy ex-girlfriend.
