I just don't get as much down time as I use to have and hate wasting my time on some of the garbage that is put out.

Probably the last really good movie I saw was The Martian. Over the last 10 years movies like Inception, Avatar, Zero Dark Thirty have caught my attention.

Any suggestions on some great ones out there that would leave me saying wow!?

I just watched "Snowden" and liked it a lot.

Not sure it's a GREAT movie, but it's definitely worth the time to watch it.

Oh God easily. It's in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. One of the very few movies I've seen where it's absolutely perfect. Also go see Baby Driver. One of the better action movies I've seen in like 5 years.

Whiplash, Spotlight and Ex Machina are the best films of the past few years, IMO.

If you like horror films, I recommend The Conjuring. Action movies, the 2 John Wicks are a lot of fun.

I'm going to be downvoted into oblivion for this but Tree of Life was one of the greatest visual experiences I've ever had in my life and will be remembered as a classic movie 30 years from now. Remember people hated 2001: A Space Odyssey when it first came out. There wasn't a single spoken word of dialogue until over 30 minutes into the movie and there was no plot development until over an hour into the movie. Many people thought it was boring and confusing. And obviously people in the motion picture industry didn't think too highly of the film because they didn't even nominate it for Best Picture. Sometimes it takes years for people to realize how great some films are.

Mad Max: Fury Road - Unreal action scenes

The Wolf of Wall Street - Doesn't get the credit it deserves

Room - Great perspective on human emotion

The Big Short - Excellent insight of the 2008 financial crisis

Gone Girl - Best thriller in the last 10 years

Dallas Buyers Club - Outstanding

Straight Outta Compton - Doesn't get the credit it deserves

This is a joke right? Neither one of these should ever be considered great.

Hell or High Water
Sicario
Whiplash
Ex machina
Train to Busan
La La Land

Good call. Forgot that one. I'd probably put Lion in there too.

Thanks for all the input. I haven't seen most of these. I have seen Interstellar, but wasn't great overall to me. La La Land I was drug to see and actually really liked it. A lot of y'all are saying Whiplash, so I'll go for it first. Thanks again

Split isn't some masterpiece award winning movie, but I loved it and it's one of my favorite movies I've seen in a while. James McAvoy really should win something for how amazing he was.

Also agree about The Wolf of Wall Street and Straight Outta Compton.
