10 episode mystery mini-series starts tonight.

Anyone planning to check this out?

David Tennant's American accent freaks me out.

Wonder if they'll change anything from Broadchurch

It's phenomenal. Phenomenally gut-wrenchingly painful to watch - in a good way. I still feel sick to my stomach thinking about it - they make you really feel the pain of the town in its loss. It's almost cruel how they linger on these tough moments, but it's excellent filmmaking.

I plan to check it out because broad church was so good and Tennant is one of the best actors around, but I don't see how it could possibly be as good. Also I'm not sure what to make of an American Tennant.

From what I read the first few episodes are basically carbon copies of Broadchurch, but then they are supposedly taking it in a different direction toward the end.

I'll see if I can find what I was reading ...

ETA:
Gracepoint will end in a 'very different place' to 'Broadchurch'
quote:

Producers have promised the US remake of the murder mystery drama will blaze its own trail, despite the early episodes appearing to be a carbon copy of the ITV show.

But then I found this when I googled:
quote:

One hour should be enough to convince most Broadchurch fans that Gracepoint is not nearly as good.

A few more hours in, and all viewers may start thinking this American adaptation of the British hit simply isn't good enough — whether they've seen Broadchurch or not.

I will be checking it out. One of my friends is in it. Glad to see his career is panning out. He was in Lucky 7 also. Hopefully this pans out better for him.
