In the comics they are actually an item, and basically raise Bruce together.

Yeah, this show has hit its stride. I liked the twist they did with Jerome. I had a feeling that he was a fake out since they said from the beginning that they wanted to introduce characters throughout the series that could be the Joker, but they would end up not being him.

With that said, I thought he played a great "Joker" character. I hate to see him go so soon. He had the laugh down pat.

All of this. Shield is still my number 1 but I'm very happy that I stuck with Gotham.

This may sound retarded but that ending that showed Jerome's "legacy" spreading was a little confusing.

Why did people just start laughing out of nowhere from watching him on tv? Were they affected by the gas or was it just supposed to be as simple as Jerome inspired them and brought out their inner crazy?

Yeah, I took it as some of the criminals of Gotham were already on the edge of crazy because of how corrupt the city had become, and Jerome being the inspiration for them to latch onto their inner crazy as a way to deal with the "world" that they find themselves in.

But I could also be looking to much into it.

I just watched the most recent episode. Absolutely amazing. My wife is even into it and she usually only watches the comic book movies/shows because I watch them.

This has been the best story arc of the show so far. If they keep this up, this show will be epic.

Online chatter seems to indicate Theo is part of the court of owls (or Ra's al Ghul, but I don't think that's realistic). I have no knowledge of these villains in Batman lore, which is odd for me. Can someone give me a cliff notes rundown of what they are?

From Wiki:

quote:

The Court of Owls is an ancient conspiracy that has controlled Gotham City for centuries. They are a violent cabal of some of Gotham City's oldest and wealthiest families who use murder and money to wield political influence throughout history. Their bases of operation are hidden in some of the city's oldest structures

Would be a really cool storyline and would fit right in.

quote:

Bruce recounts that as a child he believed the Court of Owls responsible for the death of his parents, and personally investigated the conspiracy before determining that there was no evidence.

It's like Synder wrote that story with the show in mind(he didn't). Working in the Court of Owl's is a no brainer for Gotham and better happen.

I'd rather see that happen way more than most of the young version of the villains.

If you haven't read The Court of Owls, then you are missing out. It's probably the best Batman graphic novels since The New 52 started, and is up there with the classic Batman comics of all time. It's definitely worth the read if you have the time.

Finally watched the latest episode, had a feeling that would happen. Jerome was awesome wish he would have stayed around longer but it looks like we may have a new "Joker".

Also anyone get a Joker/Harley vibe during the whole Jerome/Barbra scene?

Do you need to go back and watch what I've heard is an awful season 1 to enjoy what I've heard is a great season 2?

I'd say it's important to see season one so you can understand how the characters got to where they are now.

Yes. You need to watch Season 1. And it wasn't "awful" IMO. Certain characters suck the soul out of it at times but overall it was decent.

Agreed. But I pity you(the one asking about S1) for having to make it through the ka-billion fish episodes/ scenes. Prayers sent and may God have mercy on your soul

I would watch season 1. You need to see the "rise" of Penguin and see Bruce & Jim's relationship grow as well as Bruce & Alfred's. Jada Smith/Fish Mooney's character while not great, is not near as bad as this board makes her out to be. I think most people were hating as much as they did because she's an easy high profile target. They said she was overacting every scene, which did indeed happen several scenes for sure, but they were also blowing Penguins character for his acting and I thought he overacted as much as Fish. Just my .02

Season 1 starts okay, but it really picks up towards the end.
