Pretty sure it's never mentioned on the show. My book reader roommate told me about it thinking it wasn't going to be shown on the show

Oh woops

I'm a partial book reader/ wiki reader. I don't remember if the Cersei flashback came before books 4 and 5 or I read that in a wiki.

Either way I wanted to highlight the importance of that scene and it's impact on making cersei who she is today

The hodor thread is way too retarded to even read and I didn't finish books 4 and 5 so I'll be here this season.

There a lot of background stuff like that that probably should've been shown a long time ago on the show *cough cough Roberts rebellion cough cough*

That's not what they're saying.

In the books up until this point this is the prophecy that the witch you saw tonight says to young Ceresi:

quote:

Cersei: Will the king and I have children?

Maggy: Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds, she said. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.

So no, no spoilers within the context of what we've discussed between the books and the show to this point.

Thats what the witch in Casterly Rock told cersei.

One is already dead, one is being threatened in the episode 2 trailer, and the third is marrying Cersei's arch nemesis and has a giant bullseye on his back.

I don't know what happens to Marcella and Tommen but things look pretty grim

yea that's why I said spoiler, I had hoped Tommen might survive since he hasn't done anything too douchey thus far, and I figured the daughter was SOL after the mountain vs the viper episode.

Since neither the book readers nor show watchers knew of Maggy the Frog's prophecy at the time, it now explains why Cersei was so willing to kill Tommen before Loras busted into the Red Keep.

i'm sorry, it's monday for my brain. so you're saying since she thinks he will die anyway (probably in a much more horrific way than nightshade) she's willing to spare him some misery?

if so, then yes i agree.

Yes, she can remember what happen to the royal children the last time the Baratheon forces took King's Landing. Having already been told that she will outlive him, she was more willing to give Tommen nightshade.

And just so were clear, that conversation between Lancel and Cercei was basically saying that Cercei had King Robert killed in order to put Joffery on the throne?

And did we already know that? Been awhile since S1

It was as simple as she wanted to get rid of Robert.

We found out about it in Season 1. Basically when she was screwing Lancel (he was skinnier with long blonde hair).

What we now know is that someone with direct knowledge that the former King was murdered and the queen that has been unfaithful, has taken religious vows and is ashamed of his actions.
