Forgot to add Warehouse 13

For an older series Farscape is good

It's got Aliens, spaceships, monsters, seems pretty Sci Fi to me

My impression was he meant the channel, but you could be right, and if so it's a great suggestion.

Is this a joke or real? It might make for something on my long flights coming up.

It's real

You can read about it in this thread, where I recommend some episodes

I might have to search around for some download options, I have 27 hour travel time one way and 32 hour travel time back.

Archive.org is free

You can batch DL every X-1 episode all at once. Same with Dimension X

For a change of pace try some other shows mentioned in that thread, such as Suspense, Philip Marlowe, or Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre

Relic Radio's Sci-Fi podcast has a lot of those old shows too. That's how I listen to them when I'm on the go.

X Minus One is legit.

That along with The Shadow and The Avenger are my go to old time radio shows.

you can download a bunch of them in MP3 format for free here LINK

as for Sci Fi shows X-Files, Fringe, and Continuum are all great. My SO went through Zoo and The 100 pretty quickly and what little I saw was interesting enough. I recently started Dark Matter and its kept my interest after the first three episodes. All of these can be found on Netflix.

Battlestar Galactica must watch IMO but sadly its only on Hulu right now.

Also, some would argue they arent sci fi but I would also say you should check out Firefly (Netflix) and The Adventures of Brisco Country Jr (DVD) if you want to try something more lighthearted and fused with westerns.

All of Star Trek is on Netflix. Go where no man has gone before. Just do it.
