Not films but right now Netflix has pretty much every George Carlin special up on Instant. All are worth watching if you haven't seen them . Brilliant.

Same for a couple of Bill Burr's stand-up specials. As well as Russell Peters and the one Elon Gold standup is pretty funny.

For movies there's not a lot of comedies I see on Instant at the moment besides some classics you've probably seen. It's genuinely devoid of any options.

I need to check out Russell peters. Seems funny as hell on Last Comic Standing. I vaguely remember hearing his jokes back on XM and cracking up. Will try to watch tomorrow

His top 3 for me are:

1 / Green Card Tour

2 / Red, White and Brown

3 / Notorious

His is less a cerebral comedy and more wordplay, accents, audience engagement, etc. Still funny but different from a Hicks, Carlin or Burr.

My waitress today was telling me how she wanted to go into psychiatry but heard about patients stalking their therapist. I asked her if she ever saw What About Bob and she was clueless.

I tried watching What About Bob last week. Stopped after 30mins. Didn't find it funny and didn't like watching Bill Murray's character. Am I missing something?

I did the exact same thing last week

Like you said, just couldn't get into it. I wanted to like it.

+1

I had that on my to do list of movies to watch for about a year and I finally watched this last week and thought it was a really good movie. I really liked it.

Sean William Scott was awesome in this movie. I think he did a really good job with his character.

I had a several people tell me what a hidden gem Goon was. People whose opinions on movies I hold in high regard. But this flick was awful. I didn't laugh even one time.

Extract.

It's by Mike Judge. It has Jason Bateman, Mila Kunis, Kristen Wiig, and Ben Affleck. Ben Affleck is hilarious in it. Very underrated movie IMO.

Russell Peters is one of the funniest comedians nobody has heard of.

I almost never see him on tv- just about everything I've seen was on YouTube.
