I bought this on a whim at Best Buy last night. I felt like it was a fantastic movie. Very impressive visual design even if the movie had next to no plot.
One negative was that every time Aaron Taylor-Johnson appeared on screen, I kept trying to figure out why Kick arse was in this movie.

I enjoyed it. Someone posted the screen times of all the other godzilla movies made and this one was on parade with the rest. It was done in that same old way which I enjoyed

Not terrible, but not very good either. And it was hugely deceptive how they had Bryan Cranston in the trailer and he had almost no screen time in the movie (or, at least that's how I remember it).

The visuals were great, and there were some really fun scenes, but all in all I thought it was just "meh". Which was extremely disappointing for me, as I love monster movies in general and Godzilla in particular.
