Its really a shame that Shosh got sucked into these pathetic people's lives. She needs to graduate and get the F out of brooklyn and away from those idiots.

See, I don't like Adam either.
I don't necessarily think he's likable. Definitely not by the end of the season. I just find him hilarious sometimes. But I did find myself rooting for him towards the end of the season and he disappointed me. So I guess after thinking about it, he can go frick himself too.
I'll still watch season 3. I have no idea why. I'm not doing anything at 9pm on Sundays most of the time anyway.

I watched the first two episodes without the slightest grin or chuckle. It seemed pointless to risk tooth damage from my clenched jaw so I walked away.
But the real question is why is it so hard to just disregard this show as one more example of mindless pop culture crap? I really think the timing of the premiere coinciding with the Occupy Wall Street debacle tied these together in a lot of minds. The same spoiled rich kids who've been handed everything with the same moronic whining for more. So many voices in the media have tried to shove both these down our throats as courageous and important while in middle America they trigger nausea and fleeting thoughts of violence.

I think you might be looking a little too far into it and/or don't really get it.

There's been an angry debate about this show since it premiered. Not just here, but across all media. To me, its just another show I don't watch but the vitriol from both sides is fascinating.

yea, I didn't like Adam, then I did, and then he just made me cringe.

I just could never get into him. First, he was an a-hole. But then he made valid points about her never making it clear how she wanted him to act. She was waiting for him to make a move without giving him any hint that she wanted him to.
Then they got together. And it was cute for about 1 minute. But he was really really really weird. And the way they yell at each other and say "frick off" and other terrible stuff.. maybe I'm sheltered, but I'm the age of the girls in this show and I don't know anyone who lets their boyfriend scream at them and call them names.
When they were in the street and he got hit by a car, he was saying the most horrible things to her and she was just saying "Adam.." Screw that! I'd never let someone speak to me that way regardless if he's mad that I didn't say "I love you too"
Of course, once he became very dependent on her and got even weirder, she was no longer interested. I can't say I blame her, and that's something I actually kinda can relate to. Girls are dumb, and we tend to want someone while we can't have them, and then when they reveal how needy they can be, we don't want them anymore.
Y'all are making me want to push through Season 2 and see how he turns out though.
I am wondering how/why I could find myself hating Shosh, so I might continue watching to see that too.

If I remember correctly it's season 2 where he becomes a somewhat sympathetic character but that all vanishes after the tail end of an episode where he...
well... it's borderline at best.
I'll just let you watch.
But I agree with others that its pretty hard to relate with or even feel empathy for the characters with the way they behave. I still have trouble deciding if I like the show or just watch b/c its a complete train wreck.
It's hard for me to put a finger on it b/c there are several shows I really enjoyed that were filled with characters who really had little redeeming value as people such as Always Sunny or Seinfeld.
This one though... It's almost as if they took everything I hate about Sookie Stackhouse and gave every character that same hateability amped to 11.

Dang, that's some fricking truth. Then we're left thinking damn, well this sucks.

I find myself wondering the same thing, but for some reason it's must see tv for me... One episode you'll think you find something that you can finally say you like about it, but then the next you're like what the frick is this shite.

Those are the last 5 movies he produced with new Anchorman on the way. So yeah, "still a good thing."
