He's obviously the rightful heir to the iron throne. There's a lot more shite in the books about the horn of winter and ice dragons (a song of ice and fire, Dany is fire Jon is ice) and I personally think Dany is actually the antagonist of the story and obviously Jon is the hero. While Jon is technically a targ he will reject the knowledge and maintain his Stark lineage. A huge theme in GoT is that there is no villain, everyone is a hero to their own side, but I don't think the others are gonna end up being the overarching villain. It just doesn't fit RR Martin. We will find out soon.

Uh no shite? I've known who Jons parents were since I read the first book and before the show ever came out. It's painfully obvious. He goes to great lengths to talk about Neds promise to Lyanna and we get the tower of joy scene from season 6 in book 1. No one is going to likely to be able to confirm Rheagar and Lyanna got married except Bran and his green sight which is why Jon will remain a Stark, which is what he is at heart anyway he takes after Lyanna 100% not Rheagar. His hair, they describe how he looks more like Ned than any of his kids.

You have gone full on douche yourself. You'd be a featured candidate on r/iamverysmart.

Lyanna and Rhaegar getting married is not canon, no matter how much you will it to be so.

It is cannon. Brans green sight will reveal it but no one alive will have seen it keeping Jons last name Snow but we the reader will find out why he was brought back to life and is the hero of the story. You think they go through all this to keep him alive and the lengths they've shown in the show to make everyone see he might be the prince who was promised to just keep him a bastard? Rheagar was obsessed with his heir being Azor Ahai. Jon is obviously Azor Ahai. They got married

You do know what canon is right? It means it's the written gospel. If we need an act to confirm yours (and many other reader's) theory, such as Bran's green sight, it is not canon.

Quit your bullshite.

Holy shite, readers/viewers connecting dots =/= canon.

Unless it's confirmed in show by Dan and Dave or in book by GRRM, it isn't canon.

She was found in the tower of joy. Not the tower of pain. Martin goes to great length to establish the Targs practiced polygamy. Even if Bran doesn't have green sight (which he does the last episode in season 6 confirms this) Howland Reed can still confirm anything about Jon Snow, or his daughter. Theories like Bran being the lord of light and being every Bran in the stark family isn't cannon. There is plenty of evidence in the book and show to come to the conclusion they were actually in love and married, and there's evidence to draw the conclusion Jon will take up the Stark lineage and reject the Targ in him.

But that doesn't = canon.

The evidence is overwhelming enough to me that it's basically cannon and cannot be denied. Is it confirmed as in spelled out for yo and told it happened? No, but Bran or Howland will confirm it at some point likely early in season 7 or Winds of Winter

Canon, it's been spelled correctly 15+ times in this thread. "Basically cannon" doesn't exist. It's canon or not canon. Evidence can lead you to believe it will BECOME canon, but it's not canon until it's official.

This used to be a great board, a place away from the insanity of tRant, OT, Poli, etc. You could ask legit questions and ask for genuine recommendations. Instead, the quality of posts is at an all-time low. It's as though posters got bored on other boards and decided, let's post on M/TV.

Why? Because it's obvious and the guy who originally started this thought Jon was gonna be a Rivers . Look it's clear you are super movie guy and everything but I guess to you R+L=J isn't canon either, I mean it hasn't been confirmed and official. Wait, yes, it is canon because it's fricking obvious to anyone with a brain and eyes, and because of people like you HBO had to come out and spoon feed it to you on their website. What in this thread has ruined your lovely M/TV board experience? What's not quality? The one guy who thought Jon was Neds kid with his sister ? If you can't read between the lines to figure things out GoT isn't the book or show for you, more so the book. It's FILLED with foreshadowing. Literally busting at the brims with it. It's confirmed, they married, just because you can't see it doesn't make it so.
