No, I don't think so. The pause was for dramatic effect. I think Jon knew he had to do it. Dude called him out in front of everyone at his first meeting as Lord Commander. Thorne knew better than to say anything. Plus, he stepped aside when they went to get Slynt, thus providing for that great expression. I think Jon's mind was made up when he called for his sword.

I get that he called him out.. But Slynt learned quickley that he was business. But then he acted like a vag and that won't fly

It was known already that he was a vag. Once he hit that block, he couldn't back down. If he did, everyone would cry for mercy after challenging his order. This way, his orders will never get challenged.

I do like how he downed his Ale and kind of looked annoyed prior to walking outside.

Plus, I think Jon killing him was more for Thorne. Jon knows that Thorne has it out for him. Jon executing Slynt was a message being sent.

I think Thorne already knew not to frick with him anymore, plus Jon just made him First Ranger, showing he was willing to bury the hatchet. Jon knows making Thorne a clear enemy or sending him away will cause more dissension in the Watch. A lot of them still like Thorne, whereas everyone knew Slynt was a gigantic pussy.

What I'm really curious about is what Cersei's play will be with the Sparrows. She isn't gonna take shite off Margaery lying down. As awesome as seeing Margeary put her down was I think she needs to be careful.

I'm tired of seeing Cersei get so much screen time every week. We get it; you're a power hungry bitch.

Do they ever say at any point in the show if Jon is aware of Slynt's betrayal of Ned in King's Landing? I can't remember if that was ever stated.

Pretty awesome episode last night.

Was cool to see Arya's story advance a little bit finally.

We got Jon chopping necks and cashing checks. That whole scene at the Wall was cool as hell when Jon was dishing out orders.

My boy Davos got some screen time and laid down some truth on Jon Snow.

No boring arse Dany bitching and whining about shite.

And even Theon's storyline should now start meaning something now that Sansa is at Moat Cailin with a potential eye out for some sweet, sweet revenge (hoping that she and Theon team up somehow). But I did get aggravated when old Sansa showed up for a minute and started whining before Baelishfinger told her what's up and set her (seemingly) straight.

Just a really solid episode start to finish.

I dunno, I thought that was an awesome scene. It may be the last time you see old Sansa. She had a real purpose in her eyes when she walked back to her horse.

This for sure. Fantastic episode, possibly the best one in the series that doesn't involve a major death.

Sansa and Theon are both back in Winterfell, but I agree. The Boltons are gonna get screwed by either Stannis or Littlefinger, or both. Plus, "There must always be a Stark in Winterfell."

I think yall are also forgetting Slynt was involved in beheading Ned Stark, and Jon was able to get revenge in a way.

Not stated, but Im pretty sure Jon is aware of Slynt's involvement. He knows where Slynt came from, and he knows what happened to his father.

To the previous poster that mentioned it, I don't recall Jon being aware of Slynt's involvement in Ned's beheading. I could be wrong.

But, IMO, Jon didn't give that a thought. It was his blatant dismissal of Jon's order. Jon even clarify that it was an order, not a request.

Oh, and Coco...Sansa is in Winterfell. They showed Moat Cailin as a passage through to Winterfell and how Brienne and Pod had to go around.

Only one man's vote but I would call him THE worst Band villain of them all. There were a few bad ones but he is the worst in my book.

ETA: Sorry to get off topic. Episode was great last night. Love Jon's story right now.

True, I got my places mixed up.

But I am just glad that Theon's screen time shouldn't piss me fof anymore. It was a cool storyline for a while and then it just became about nothing more than Ramsay being a sadist. Not to mention that he and Sansa...two of the most boring characters on the show...are now in the same place, so they should (in theory) get less screen time. I'm really interested to see how she reacts to seeing him. Does she know about him and the whole "burned corpses of Bran and Rickon" thing, or was she gone by that point?

Either way, I'm interested to see those two on screen together.
