Interesting idea for a story about Wolverine. I'll probably check it out after reviews start to come out and it's at least a consensus 50% on rotten tomatoes or metacritic.

If'n I had to guess, it's not permanent. And I don't mean that in a "no shite" way. I meant it along the lines of the X3 way (the "cure" was not permanent - see end of credits scene), but obviously more time compressed.

I'm just wary of Wolverine movies after Origins.

I'd always thought that the movies made him a bit too indestructible as compared to what I remember reading in the comics as a kid.

speaking of, I believe his healing factor has been diminished in the comics before. Magneto once took the adamantium out of him, and it taxed the healing factor to keep him from dying.

Correct. Magneto removing Wolvie's adamantium in that epic comic issue nearly killed Wolverine and overly taxed his healing factor to the point of nearly eviscerating it. The results were he regressed into a feral, loner mess for a while. I love Wolvie's origin story - he was actually not really "indestructible" until the Canadian government laced his bones with adamantium, thereby creating the Weapon-X character that eventually became Wolverine. So much potential with his origin story...God I sound like a colossal dork.

ETA: After viewing the trailer I'm kinda disappointed on the era the movie appears to focus on. I know the original origins movie covered Logan's adamantium bonding and creation but it was so briefly and poorly done...I was hoping the reboot would truly cover his beginnings. The new movie looks like it takes place further down the road, making it not so much a reboot as a sequel of sorts. JMO.

I always had a problem with how indestructible he would be at one moment and then how vulnerable he would be the next.

I'm in the same boat. I thought it would be about his time training in martial arts and fathering Daken and all that nonsense.

I thought it was gonna be a Pre-X1 sequel moreso than a reboot. just a sequel that for the most part ignored the trash that was Origins. have him end in Japan post adamantium bullet ( ) trying to figure out who he is. Mariko, SIlver Samurai, etc.

That was the essence of his constant physical and psychological struggle between being human or devolving into a feral beast. At points he was more feral than human. And vice versa.

I would also like to see Wolverine actually kick some arse in this film (solo) as opposed to his other appearances. In X Men and X2 X Men United Wolverine can't even land a single blow on two of the female antagonists and the only arse kicking he ever really does is against humans. When we get to the third film Logan actually gets to kick some arse of some of the third rate villains and when it comes to the climactic battle, it takes Logan and the B crew to get anything done.

I have been a huge Wolverine fan all my life but when you get down and analyze this characters film appearances and battles on screen, this guy can't kick anyone's arse. Anytime I see his fight with Mystique in X Men it is embarrassing that he can't even land a single punch.

Ha I hear you. I've been greatly disappointed in Wolverine's character on film to this point. It's been such a waste of potential.

It seems this movie will be a continuation of that trend. I thought the trailer looked pretty bad. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

Wait so is this a prequel or a sequel? Someone said something about a reboot? I never read the comics so someone fill me in. Where does this take place in relation to past movies? Also, who is this dude he saved in the Nuke blast? Are we supposed to have met him already or is he someone new?

TIA! Trailer looks badass, but I'm a Wolverine sucker.

This film takes place after the events of the X Men films. It is not a reboot. I am assuming that the man Logan saved will be an event that will be revealed in the film. I am guessing he may be Silver Samurai?

In the international trailer, looks like Silver Samurai is in it. Perhaps the main antagonist?
