Should I decline? Am I going to be totally lost having not seen Batman Begins and The Dark Knight?

You'd be alright not seeing TDK as there only a few plot points from that film. You could not miss BB though.

You'll be confused whether you've seen the first two or not.

You'll be completely lost on what's going on. This a movie with so much going on that I found myself lost at times and I've seen the other two films several times.

Never got around to it. I'm not really a comic book movie person. I saw the shitty mid 90s ones though.

ETA: I'm going to go see it; I guess it doesn't really matter and I'll appreciate the visuals.

I have a friend that refuses to see them because he doesn't want to see comic book movies. Thinks they're childish. Watch Nolan's Batman and tell me it's childish.

DKR and batman begins are much more like "comic book movies" than TDK IMO. Tdk feels almost like a gangster movie and is required viewing regardless of what type of movies you usually like.

You need to see BB to understand whats going on. You will be alright with missing out on TDK.
