First Blood Observation

Just watched this with my 11 year old son. I have watched this movie countless times over 3 decades but it just dawned on me tonight that there was not one female in the movie except for the opening scene when Sheriff Will Teasle is leaving the station to get in his Sheriffs car. He says good morning to a lady pushing a baby carriage down the sidewalk. Never is a female in a scene after that. Just found that interesting. I can't recall another movie made in my lifetime without a female ever uttering a word in the entire movie.
Also, the movie is refreshing because there is not a bunch of meaningless fluff BS dialogue. It is centered around 3 main characters and the movie revolves around their interaction the whole time. The makers of the movie focused only on the drama that unfolded the moment Sherrif Teasle pulled up beside John Rambo on the highway. No romance. No comedic asides in the script. No meaningless discussions between characters to fill time. They just let the drama unfold and enhanced it with the same repetitive piano theme when no words were needed. It was well done.

Doesn't he talk to a woman hanging clothes on a line at the very beginning? Looking for a war buddy
Still, that's the only other one I can think of, and maybe it wasn't a woman, been a few years
Great movie though, glad you brought it up, I'm always looking for some of the classics from my day to watch with my 13 year old.

This reminds me--is Brian Dennehey still alive?
Upon further review--yes, it appears he is.

Whoops. Yes he talked to the mother of one of the members of his squad who he had come to visit. She told him he died the previous year from cancer.

It's easily my favorite of the Rambo films.

12 Angry Men (1957) has no female characters.

Nope. Always thought Rambo needed a comedic sidekick.

You're right; didn't remember that.
But I don't think there is any speaking roles for any woman - I don't even think the waitress says anything and don't remember seeing her.

Stallone is the Picasso of our time. His genius will only be realized when it's too late.
I seriously think Stallone and Eastwood are the GOATS
Every one else is sniffing their pubes
