In the last episode (6 I believe), where they were in the storage building and he showed him the tape.....the acting is some of the best I have ever seen

Whatever episode that was where they went to Beaumont and did the 7 minute consecutive cut scene was amazing. Season 1 was awesome.

Season 1 is one of my favorite seasons of tv ever. I wanted to punch Season 2 when it ended.

Don't waste your time with Season 2. Season 1 is fantastic. Season 2 was a snoozefest.

Season 1 was one for the ages.
As for Season 2, I actually liked parts of it. I think it was episodes 5,6,7 that were REALLY good. The rest of it is very hard to follow.

Season 1 was neo-southern gothic at its absolute finest. Bought the DVD set and rewatch every now and then and enjoy it every time.
Season 2 made it apparent that the show runners and Pizzolatto didn't understand what made season 1 so great (not to mention that it was clearly a rushed product).
