Finally finished season one of LOST! Sorry I mean Revolution. My thoughts...

Edit: Let me start by saying im not being serious here guys, calm down.
They should rename this show This Is Post Apocalyptic LOST.
Except they are like screw it we're going to do flashbacks right of the bat. What's the over/under on the number of LOST characters are involved by the time this thing is over with? Let's start the line at 20. HOW DOES ELIZABETH MITCHELLKEEP GETTING JOBS?? She plays Juliet on the show. Crap that was her LOST character She plays Rachel in this. She is possibly the worst actress of all time. Like on LOST, the scenes with her are almost painful to watch. "Danny, is that you?" (fakes a cry but can't come close to getting a tear out). Later on in the show "Charlie, is that you?" (fakes a cry but can't come close to getting a tear out.
The first episode was pretty good. The scene they showed in the advertisement before ibefore the shows release, the one where they walk past Wrigley Field. That was pretty well done.
Also in the first episode I came to watch Revolution and at the end Braveheart broke out. That was surprising.
Then the episode with Frank Lapidus, the pilot. Crap he was the pilot on LOST, he was the dog dude in this. He wants to kill EVERYBODY because his daughter died because of looters? Jeez dude it ain't their fault. Miles and the crew have an unbelievably fake crossbow shooter, swords and guns but you are seriously terrified, not over people, but dogs? Pffttftttpptttff. Then Maggie the stepmom dies after Frank Lapidus stabs her wait for it, wait for it...in the leg. No not the stomach or the or the heart but the leg. Only Charlie can get stabbed in the stomach and walk it off. Maggie is dying, Charlie: "I'm not going anywhere." Maggie dies. "ALRIGHT LET'S MOVE! They had just finished watching Titanic.
Ok and just the premise of the whole show. No other country cares to help, they don't even mention that another country has even to help. God forbid logic. I'd be freaking walking my azz to Canada. In just 15 years the states have dissolved and one dude has taken over half the country. What's this founding father of the "Monroe Territories"? GENERAL MONROE! Not to be confused with the founding father of the United States, James Monroe.
I hope that when our power goes out, in 15 years, the military makes civil war uniforms, not the camo ones we got now. Pretty sure that's how it would go. The Civil War crap is ridiculous. Did black powder guns become the most popular things ever shortly before the blackout? Because theres not many of them being made these days. That wouldn't be the gun in serious abundance. You can barely give those things away nowadays. I can see how the finding ammo for AR's and rifles could be an issue but there are way too many black powder guns floating around.
The scene where Charlie has to meet and talk to Neville, almost as tense as the opening scene from Inglorious Basterds.
My favorite quote of season one: "It doesn't get any easier, you just get better at swallowing it." Nice.
Little known fact... A whiskey flask also can serve as a BULLET PROOF VEST. No joke it does. Serious. They are like super hard.
Mexicans are still your stereotypical maid lol.
This Strauser dude cracks me up. Miles claims that this is the only dude he's ever been afraid of. The guy literally does nothing scary. Ever. I guess they were going for the psychopath thing. But this guy is closer to being a pre-school teacher than a psychopath.
I think the thing that pissed me off the most was what Aaron did with his wife. You leave you're freaking wife because your not manly enough??? You have to leave because the other people can take care of her. Instead of being there while other people take care of her. I cannot respect anything he does from here on out. What a giant puss.
The land mine scen was awesome. When they stepped off one and set off the black cats and sparklers. Joe Dirt would have been pissed at that explosion.
Capt. Tom Neville is awesome though. Best character on the show.
I can see Jacob being a bigger character in the future. Crap that was his name on LOST. Why do I keep doing that?
I got Revolution spirit yes I do. I got spirit how bout you? Your thought? To;dr?

You spent a lot of time watching a show that you hate. Maybe you should find more productive ways to fill your schedule.

Its not terrible. The premise of the show is very interesting. Im hoping the acting and writing improve in season 2. One thing they do well is leaving a good cliffhanger to get you interested in the next show. Their are alot of questions but they seem to answer them in the next show instead of waiting 2-3 seasons like LOST. I miss LOST and this is kinda close to it so I will continue to watch.

I don't hate it. A lot of stuff just makes me laugh. The only thing I really hated was ol boy leving his wife behind. I like making fun of stuff, I did it with the last few seasons of LOST, doesn't mean I don't like it. I DVR it so it takes me like 40 minutes to watch an episode. I barely watch tv anyways.

That's one thing I like about it. You do get answers. They ended one episode saying next week you'll find out why the lights went out and I was thinking I seriously doubt we will. But they delivered. They do the da dum dum da dum BOOM thing before every commercial like LOST so that gets old though.

This is not like LOST at all. Not even a little bit.

I didn't say the story was. Why come in a thread if you don't read the post. I was joking almost the entire time.

The point is GFY. God you are a terrible poster. Stick to the O-T.

I'm going to go ahead and say that I haven't watched more than 5 minutes of this show. My kids and I lol'd at the commercials because the premise seemed stupid. Okay the power goes out and I guess regular guns stopped working also. Whatever. Are you saying that it is just in the U.S.? The rest of the world is going on like normal?

Unless I missed it, I don't think they have ever said anything else about the rest of the world. That's why I asked why hasn't the rest of the world done anything to try and help? And said I'd just walk my azz to Canada

quote:i gotta say for a while i was ready to throw in the towel and give up on this show altogether but the last 2 or 3 episodes have brought me back from the ledge. i have actually enjoyed them. i think charlie having less and less lines maybe had something to do with it. i am really interested to see where it goes though. i have high hopes for the tag team of kripke and abrams.

by the way i could feel the anger seething from your keyboard while i was reading the op

Well the show is focussed on one group of people in one part of the country, so it's not like the scope of the show doesn't stretch that far currently.
The show may have some bad acting and bad writing at times, but I've enjoyed it for what it is. Nothing ground breaking or award worthy.

The last few episodes have been good. Focusing on miles, Monroe, Neville. They make the show. No more Charlie "what are y'all talking about?" miles "nothing" Charlie"TELL ME!!" miles "ok". It was like that for like 5 episodes straight

Im pretty sure the rest of the world is without power too or there would be countries trying to take over the US or something. Doesnt the opening of the show have a picture of the Earth lit up and then it all goes dark? Cant recall for sure but I think thats what happens.

Yeah I can't remember either.
But doesn't in one of the characters flashback show that they walked like a really long distance to get to Boston or something son they could catch a boat to England? Or am I thinking of a different show

I have all of the shows on DVR but haven't watched it yet. I'm sick of getting interested in a new show only to have it get cancelled.
Is this worth the watch? Do you think it gets a second season?

I was done with this show after the arrow trap scene with the annoying blonde girl that could have been avoided by simply leaning to one side.

Not sure. I do know the step mom that was killed said her kids were over seas. Im sure there would be a way to get there if the world had power. Since it wasnt mentioned, I assume the power is out everywhere.
FWIW, I liked the show. Like all shows, its got its issues but the idea is good enough to keep your attention. Some bad actors but some good ones too.
