Because she has a black boyfriend that they never even show hook up?

The very nature of the show means it's starting off slow. Zombies aren't even a scifi thing in this world so the population has no frame of reference for them, thus making the eventual breakdown of society slow to happen, but all the more chaotic when it finally does.

The one thing I am not liking about the show is what feels like the entire main cast (the family) being unkillable. In TWD part of the attraction is that -aside from Rick, because he's the main character- every character is potentially walker-food with varying degrees of probability. I don't get that with FTWD. I get that the family unit itself is the main character, thus there's no real concern any of them die. With such a large cast, this seems limiting.

We've had only 2 episodes thus far so maybe I am wrong. I hope I am wrong.

I like the slow deliberate pace they seem to be taking with the zombie apocalypse; its not just 10 minutes of exposition then BAM zombie horde.

I do not like the son, at all. He's not that good of an actor, and he's kind of goofy. I find myself giggling at his scenes that are supposed to be serious, like when he ran his drug dealer over with the truck.

I also laughed when they showed the beginning of the riots in L.A., and it was all white kids. Not that white kids don't riot. I guess that was an attempt at political correctness.

The show has started off really slow but as we have stated earlier, it has really picked up towards the end of the 2nd episode.

It is slow but I like it alright so far. I have a thing for mom (Kim Dickens). She fine.

Nothing new. Nothing original. Nothing captivating. It's just a lazy ploy to reel in these suckers that are overly obsessed with Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead has really sucked arse for the last two seasons and I don't see it getting better anytime soon. AMC's mistake was parting ways with Darabont. When Darabont was around, the show had more heart and originality. Now it's nothing but gore and lazy writing. Darabont's idea for the season two premiere (that was scrapped thanks to AMC) was far superior than the shite they ended up going with. You fanboys can disagree all you want, but the show flat out sucks gorilla dick now.

My thoughts are...people are trying to convince themselves of a "slow build up" when in actuality the show simply isn't very good.

Could be the case of not being very good (see True Detective Season 2) but I still think that it's an attempt to see how the outbreak started so slow that the average person didn't stop to see it happening around them (the birthday party across the street). The next few episodes will tell the tale.

Well good, maybe you'll quit watching and stop posting about how bad it is.

Show is decent.

More than any show the makers of Walking Dead appear to know little about the world outside Hollywood. Why would the girl be looking out of the window with a flashlight? It makes it harder to see.

What did the mom steal from the school cabinet and why?

I honestly love this one so much more than waking dead. The potential is far greater, unless we start heading towards a cure in the original, the origin of the disease and its effect on a city has loads of promise and possibilities. Plus the characters/casting so far are well done.

I never really enjoyed WD until the last couple of seasons.
