It's almost too intense/suspenseful. I honestly think I'm going to stop watching it. I love TWD, but "Fear" makes me so agitated, it's not any fun.

Somewhere between a 74-77. They changed the grill and headlights in 78.

It is a '76 or '77. You can tell by the black headlight "buckets" or surrounds.

Somebody on reddit just pointed out something interesting. The first two episodes have had many camera shots that have explicitly shown/emphasized water.

Maybe this is a foreshadowing device given their discussion of retreating to the desert. The need for water may eventually outweigh the fear of walkers, and create tension among survivors.

I actually get what you mean, although I think the show is good and it has my attention. But I'm not expecting a whole lot of "fun" though, since this is a show that is basically solely about how everything goes to shite. There won't be a lot of fun things happening if that were to ever happen.

Solid episode last night, although it's maddening that the mom keeps seeing shite and refuses to tell people what she saw. She wants her daughter to not leave the house and even physically blocks the door at one point, while she is openly questioning what happened and why the mom is freaking out so bad, yet she just sits there in silence and refuses to say a word. That's so frustrating. it's not like her kids are toddlers who won't understand...they're basically adults, so treat them as such and let them know what's going on so that they'll take your commands seriously and not endanger themselves by being stupid (like her leaving to see her bf/Randy Wagstaff).

Also, I don't know how traffic in LA works, but it's odd that sometimes they can drive wherever they want in no time, but other times they are stranded and can't get somewhere. Just something I noticed.

I thought the school scene with the principal was cool. It was weird that the one loner kid was just hanging around the school, but whatever. Also thought it was weird that the mom was faced with a GIANT pantry stockpiled with food and she didn't want to take any.

It was also cool with the actual scene where the principal attacked. We've talked about before how at this point, nobody really knows that the brain/headshots are the way to go, so that loner kid is just stabbing the principal and it isn't doing anything. It's gonna be cool watching people slowly realize how to deal with zombies on this show.

This show is already better than I thought it would be, and I expected it to be pretty cool.

I just find myself with my shoulders up to my ears when it goes to commercial breaks. I'm probably just an old fart, but it just seems like they go for a max-out (soundtrack, story, sound effects, etc) for suspense. I'm exhausted after its over

I think this is one of things that drives me nuts. Clever device..but IMO they're going a bit too far.

Another thing that jacks up the suspense level is how the viewer (having seen TWD) knows what the characters should do (get weapons, food, find safe place, etc) - but the characters are clueless.

I don't mean to suggest it sucks. It's great. Maybe it was just me last night. I'll probably watch it again next week

So does it seem like the cops are aware of what's going on and just not saying much?

The cop who shot the grunge chick walker did so pretty quickly so it seems like they are aware of the danger to a degree

I'm sure they don't want to spread panic, but they aren't telling the public anything and trying to cover it up almost

Yeah I think so. The cop stockpiling water also makes the viewer beleive they know what's happening.

The 'homeless man' that got shot took a bullet thru the eye.

There was an interesting show on the Discovery channel about what would happen if humans just disappeared off the Earth. Pretty quickly, desert cities (like LA, Vegas, Phoenix) get retaken by the desert.

Granted, this is supposed to happen between the start of the outbreak to when Rick woke up right? So not sure if that will be an issue.

Yeah, Life After People on the History channel.

Cool show.

Yes. The police seem to have at least a working knowledge of the attributes of the walker - how to put them down with damage to the brain, etc

The hospital workers from episode 1 also seem to have knowledge. Or at least I inferred that from the fact that they moved that one person out of there pretty quick.

And remember, that in ep. 1 Tobias said something about internet chatter about this stuff happening in a few places. Of course most people either never heard the chatter or wrote it off as internet crazies (kind of like the MILF did when Tobias told her).

So there is SOME knowledge out there. It just seems to be pretty limited as to who knows it and who believes what they heard.

If I am in California during an outbreak like this, going to the desert would not be my first option. I would be headed towards the mountains and forested areas in the central parts of the state. Or stealing a boat to one of the islands off the coast near LA.

This, of course given our awareness of the circumstances.

I think they are somewhat aware. The dad realize pretty quickly they need to get out of town and away from people. Tobias lays out how civilization will quickly fall, he is aware of what is going to happen.

Tobias also said something about the school being designed as a fallout shelter or some type of emergency building. Seems to me the crew might be making a trip back there for supplies or to hold up for a while.

The premise of them not really freaking out after seeing the drug dealer come back is kind of absurd.

I mean if you saw that first hand, you would be losing your shite, stocking up on everything and GTFO of that city.

The part with the stupid little mexican emo kid pissed me off too. He has a super puncheable face.

I do like this show though.

Shock. People struggle to even think coherently when faced with something that defies natural laws so severely.

You talking 'bout Tobias? Don't be going around talking about Tobias like that. He is going to be a combination of Darryl Dixon, Michone and Rick on this show.

To be honest, I like the character. Although the actor is not doing the best of jobs with it, I think it's a character with some potential.

I think he's talking about the stepdad's son, the one filming that protest/rally thing.
