Good suggestions. I'll probably get flak for this, but I liked the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy.

The Raid
Flame and Citron
Princess
All of Studio Ghibli's library
All of Kurosawa
Mongol
The Zatoichi movies as played by Shintaro Katsu
House of Flying Daggers
Hero
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Let the Right One In
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Funny Games
Infernal Affairs Trilogy
Shaolin Soccer
Kung Fu Hustle
Life is Beautiful

The others listed are also great.
City of God and Seventh Seal are essential viewing, as are the Kurosawa films (e.g. Seven Samurai, Rashomon, Ran, and Throne of Blood) and Pan's Labyrinth.

Others that I haven't seen but feel I should are Pierrot le Fou, Run Lola Run, the Killer, Jules and Jim, and Cinema Paradiso

Check out The Hunt

It is about a teacher who was falsely accused of molesting a little girl in a daycare by the little girl. It is really good.

City of God is mine. No Country is good to me, not great. Pan's Labyrinth is stunning, but City of God still holds my crown for best foreign film of all time.

I consider Seven Samurai to be the definitive foreign language film. Kurasawa's non-samurai films are wonderful too - Ikiru, Drunken Angel, Stray Dog, High and Low, The Bad Sleep Well. Too many great films.

Couldn't agree more. Maybe its because I'm such an Noir enthusiast but Drunken Angel just might be my favorite of his.

Mufine is a revelation in those films. It's mind-boggling how many great films Kurosawa and Mifune made together.
