In addition to most of the movies already listed in the thread; I love to watch the Christmas episodes of the old series on Cozy, MeTV and that other oldies tv channel. Happy Days, MTM, Little House on the Prairie, Bob Newhart, even Mork and Mindy, etc. I'll DVR them and binge watch while wrapping Christmas presents - good old fashioned holiday fun!!

Fubar 2 ( or Fubar-balls to the wall) - This Canadian holiday spectacular is a heartwarming story about alcoholism, drugs, cheating spouses, stolen hockey gear, insurance fraud, workers comp fraud and testicular cancer. I highly recommend it for mature moviegoers. I would compare it to TrailerParkBoys, just not quite as highbrow.

Tradition at my house is Die Hard. No joke. One of my sisters is the one to thank for that.

At our house cheesey Hallmark Christmas movies rule. My wife loves them and I can handle a few if there is popcorn involved. Very predictable but kid safe.

Holiday Inn.

It’s a classic and if you haven’t seen it you need to give it a shot. As was mentioned earlier White Christmas sung by Bing Crosby was first sung in this movie.

Christmas in Connecticut.

Another classic with a young Barbara Stanwyck. Really a good funny movie.

Or it is, I can't remember which side I was on. But I am very passionate about it and anyone who disagrees with my position is a fricking idiot.

Matt Novak agrees with this:

quote:

Terry Gilliam's 1985 cult classic Brazil is a wonderfully dark examination of bureaucracy in a brutally oppressive future. But its backdrop — the lead-up to Christmas — makes it one of the best Christmas movies of all time. Unlike Die Hard. Which is a bullshite choice for a favorite Christmas movie.

That cuck piece of shite wouldn't know a christmas movie if it fricked his mom while his dad watched. Die Hard is the only Christmas movie and people who think otherwise need to be choked to death with korean penises.

Absolute worst Christmas/holiday themed film/program ever:

I somehow managed to miss this in '77 when it aired. Finally got around to watching it last year. Or more accurately, attempted to watch it - gave up less than 20 minutes in.

You know how some movies are "so bad they're good"? This atrocity would best be described as "so bad that an agonizing death of disembowelment by rabid ferrets would be good in comparison".

I'm not kidding.

Yet another example of a moron using a term that he/she has no idea of the meaning because all the cool kids are using it.

My wife has seen essentially all of the sappy Life-Time Christmas movies. They start to grow on you after a while.
