I don't think people will ever give a shite about the fantastic 4.

The other two were so terrible. Just plain bad. I think people will watch them if they make a good movie.

im tired of remakes occurring 3 years after a busted film

if the studios would just hire the right people form the beginning this wouldnt be a god damn issue

They have to put out a new movie with the FF name every so often or they lose the movie rights back to Marvel.

Fox is rushing out a Daredevel reboot to avoid this as well.

I'm not too familiar with the Fantastic 4 outside of the movies, but to me the characters just weren't that likeable or interesting. Maybe it was the fault of the movies, I don't know. But I just don't see them ever being a hit like the big boys (Batman, Spidey, X Men, Wolverine, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, etc.)

This. The Fantastic Four was always a lame comic which made for an equally lame movie. Maybe if they hadn't screwed up Dr. Doom it would've had a smidgen of likability.

Hijack:

Do yall think we will start seeing supervillain centric movies anytime soon? Dr Doom being an example. He is more interesting than his foes the Fant. 4. Why not make him the focus?

Marvel needs to find a way to restructure these deals to avoid destroying their products. Maybe just pony up and buy them back.

They've tried. Basically, the studios have told them to frick off. They won't sell them for any amount.

Sorry, I can't look it up right now, but does anyone know if the contracts are slated to end at some point? Or is it perpetual as long as the character is used every X years?

If perpetual, :wowgif:

None of the Fantastic Four characters have a remotely interesting back story like any of those listed above, and therefore no one really has or will become interested or invested into the story / movie.
